    Family-Placed Death Notice

    Melvin E. Denney, of Hapeville, died Sunday, October 28, 2007. Melvin was a 33 year veteran of the Hapeville Police Dept., having retired as Chief, was a former Hapeville City Councilman and was a Deacon and Treasurer of the North Avenue Church of Christ. He is survived by his children, Rodney Denney, Jackson, Matthew Denney, Atlanta, Grace Ann Craig, Dayton, PA, Marschell "Missy" Smith, Warner Robins; a sister, Grace Sanders, Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 1st at the North Avenue Church of Christ, in state at 10 a.m., with Minister Scott Richards officiating. Interment, College Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the North Avenue Church of Christ, 3308 Old Jonesboro Rd, Hapeville, GA 30354. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home, Hapeville. 404-761-2171 www.donehoo-lewisfuneralhome.com
