    Default 240 swap question

    ok, considering the specs,
    SR20DET- 220 hp, 203 tq
    RB20DET- 215 hp, 198 tq

does anyone know which motor is stronger and better to build. this would be going into an early 90's late 80's 240. i am just curious as to other people's opinions. by the way, for those who dont know, SR is a 4 cyl. and the RB is a 6 cyl.

220 hp from a sr? you know how much *that* SR is? sense it's not the s13 one..
you know how much *that* RB is? for some that is the differance.

things to take a look at:

    head design
    weight
    support parts

both are good motors, each are better than the other one depending on your point of view and just favorite. Everyone will argue that the RB is stronger because it's iron, and everyone else will say the SR is lighter and makes your car handle better.

They both can be built to about the same amount of power on the same mods. About, notice I said about, please god don't quote me on that.

RB is an I6 so that is always a plus, nothing really bad about it...besides it's a 2.0l.

You'll find RB's for cheap all day long, SR's are highway robbery it seems sometimes. Just keep looking around and don't settle on the first motor you find. Research the person you're buying from!!

all good sites to read if you have questions about 240's.

but don't post, just search and lurk for a while. If you post and ask this question you asked here, no one will help you.
