    there were machines alot slower then that , they just didnt have alot of printed material advertising them , the tandy corp (radio shack) was one of the first companies to build an "affordable" computer.

    my first machine was an 8086...

    I remember when having an SVGA monitor was the stuff, unless you didn't know to switch it from 256 color setting.....

    Hard to believe that computers were that expensive back then. We had monochrome monitors in High school. We used to play a game calle ARTAT all the time on it.

    Now freaking cell phones and pda's are better than the best 1980's computer.

    i remember when the nerds in school where thinking i was god because i had a 80486 sx 25mhz with 4 meg of ram a 512k video card and i had just upgraded from a 2400 baud modem to a 14.4 (even before the days of 28.8 or 56k) my shit was smoking fast... and i also ran a BBS at the time

    the system we use here is pre (microsoft)DOS based we have to run a terminal emulator to get the program up and running, even that is run inside of windows XP... and they wonder why we have system problems..

    haha i remember in 5th grade i was all excited cuz my dad had bought a faster computer than i had at the time, the new one was a 386 25 haha i was like this thing flies compared to the old one hahahaha
