Default Pimp C apologizes to Atlanta...

    By Roman Wolfe

UGK group member Pimp C had the Hip-Hop community buzzing, due to recent controversial comments the rapper made in a recent edition of Ozone Magazine, in which he lashed out a various artists and claimed the Atlanta was not the South.

"Atlanta is not the South," Pimp C. told Ozone Magazine. "Atlanta is not the South, gotdamn it, when you go to Atlanta what does your clock say? When you get off the plane from Los Angeles or Texas, what time do it be over there? Atlanta is East Coast time. You n***as ain’t in the South.”

The comments sparked an outcry of comments, including many from Atlanta fans, who were offended by the remarks made about the city.

Pimp C, who lived in Atlanta for almost six years, has issued an apology to his fans in Atlanta, noting that he's worked with many notable artists from the city, including Outkast, who is featured on UGK's current hit single "Int'l Players Anthem (I Choose You)."

"To all my Atlanta fans and friends, I want to apologize for my statements in Ozone Magazine about Atlanta not being the South. That was a bulls**t statement," Pimp C said in a statement issued to AllHipHop.com. "Atlanta has always been the dirty motherf***in South!"

During the interview with Ozone, Pimp C went on to call out a number of notables within the Hip-Hop community, including Lil' Troy, Lil' Flip, Ne-Yo, Russell Simmons and unnamed rappers from Atlanta, who are phony "D-Boys" [slang for drug dealers].

"The rest of what I said about them p***y n***as is and always will be the truth. If you wanna go to war, we'll take you to World War III at the drop of a dime. If you are riding with me, thank you. If you not, f**k you...."

UGK is preparing to drop their highly anticipated double album Underground Kingz.

Along with partner Bun B., UGK released their first album The Southern Way in 1988.

Almost 20-years later, the group is preparing to deliver their seventh major label album as a group, delivering fans a 26-track album, which features guest appearances by a who's who in Hip-Hop.

Underground Kingz features guest appearances by Three 6 Mafia, Willy D, Outkast, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, T.I., Rick Ross, Slim Thug, Uncle Charlie Wilson, Raheem DeVaughn, while producers Swizz Beatz, Marley Marl, Jazze Pha, Lil Jon, Scarface and others contributed to the production of the album.

Underground Kingz is due in stores August 7.

I was listening to an interview with him on XM 66RAW and he kept saying "when you get off a plane in Atlanta, what time is it? Eastern standard time". That just doesnt make sense though. If Atlanta isnt the south, then NY isnt the north. I just dont understand what the point of his rant was. He sounded like he felt so strong about it in the interview, now he turns around to say that his statement was bullshit and that Atlanta is the dirtymotherfuckinsouth.....whatever man...

heard the interview live.....I thought it really did a lot of justice for him to say that his views aren't those of UGK or the views of Bun B, just views of his own....

the interview above is not complete.....he also went into detail of how a lot of ATL artist coined there sound from someone else, but also included that's how music is made. taking someone else's work and adding on to it to make your own, i.e. Lil John's Crunk Music started from 3-6 Mafia.

Directly from the mouth of the Pimp himself per the original source, ATL's own Hot 107.9: Pimp C Interview
