Ok so its time for me to buy a TV. Im looking for something under $1300, 42in and bigger.

The only thing i dont really understand is the contrast ratios and whether i should get Plasma or LCD.

I would like a name brand, nothing thats a knockoff or a brand i havent heard of before.

Any help is appreciated, and if anyone knows someone that can sell me one brand new, that would be great!
