Default FS: S2000 powered IRS "Locost" Seven Project

I have decided to sell my Honda F20C S2000 powered IRS locost 7 project. I started it just over a year ago, and had planning on building an ultimate track/autoX car with it, but have since changed plans and decided to build up my wife's STi for autoXing in STU instead. I initially picked up a bunch of parts to build this project, but was sidetracked many times by autocrossing and modding my CRXs and my wife's STi.

I started the project by buying a complete 2002 S2000 from my friend, who had spun it in a storm, and ruined the left rear suspension. (Pics from when I first bought the s2000: http://www.briangt.com/gallery/blues2k ) I took the car apart, keeping the full drivetrain (engine, tranny, diff, driveshaft), and full harness (including digital dash) and parted out the rest.

I then picked up a chassis from Coveland Motorsports for $3000 + $370 freight charges (uses a combination of .095 1.25" DOM and 1" DOM round tubing), which included a the chassis, control arms, and nosecone. The chassis also includes a MSO (manufacturers statement of origin), which will allow for easy registration. I bought a set of 90-93 hubs/spindles/brakes from Mazmart for $550, and had planned on getting the torsen diff from them, but decided to pick up a 96 M-edition miata instead, as Mazmart wanted $1050 for the torsen diff with axles/driveshaft, and I found a complete car for $1600 that I could part out the stuff that I didn't need. Thus, I have a set of the smaller 1.6 brakes, and also a set of the 1.8 brakes to go with the project. I copied Keith Tanner's braking system (www.cheapsportscar.net), and picked up a Wilwood dual master cylinder setup with remote adjustable proportioning valve.

I had originally decided to build up the car with the miata torsen diff, but lately was planning on using the s2000 torsen diff, as it is supposedly stronger, and provides for more mounting options. I had an s2000 diff checked out and rebuilt with fresh seals. I still have the miata torsen diff that I can include with the project for extra.

Here is a list of everything that I have:

    S2000 stuff
    -complete F20C engine/transmission
-full wiring harness from entire car, including ECU, digital dash display, cruise control stuff
    -steering wheel, and column
    -top mount gas pedal assembly
    -driveshaft
-torsen differential - had it checked out and rebuilt with new seals
-HID ballasts and bulbs (figured I would keep them, as they aren't heavy, and simply plug into the wiring harness
-Complete fuel tank with pump (will be useful for testing before getting a fuel cell fitted. easily plugs in to harness
-Complete emissions control hardware from s2000 (front air pump, rear EVAP system), which will make it easy to fire up the car without CELs
-OEM S2000 service manual and electrical testing manual
-Extra digital dash unit, that I picked up for fabricating the dash, as I didn't want to break the original
-3 stock headers (picked extras up to use for fabricating new header), and stock exhaust

    Miata stuff
-90-93 Miata uprights with 1.6 brakes
-96 Miata uprights with 1.8 brakes
    -e-brake handle and cables
    -96 Miata steering column
-set of stock 14" wheels with ~80% azeni tires
    -stock PPF
    -stock miata swaybars

    Project stuff:
-Coveland Motorsports LLC - IRS locost chassis made with DOM round tubing, very strong and solid chassis. (includes MSO) (coveland website: http://www.coveland.com/motorsports/index.cfm?ID=69 )
-high quality Rod End Supply rodends bought from Jack @ Kinetic (top of the line X series)
-Grade 8 hardware for most of the suspension from McMaster-Carr
-Wilwood dual master cylinder brake pedal/clutch setup with RPVs and remote adjustable proportioning valve
-Snap-on blake line flaring tool (needed to make brake lines for project)
-Blue fiberglass nosecone from Coveland with integrated airdam
-97 honda civic ex radiator that seems to be the right size for initial testing, was planning on ordering larger radiator later for track use
-Books: original locost book, and Keith Tanner's "How to build a Cheap Sportscar" book

    Price:
I am looking to get $7900 OBO for the above listed items, which is what I paid for them after recouping costs by parting out the two cars. If you are interested in the project without the S2000 drivetrain, let me know and we can work something out.

Stuff that I might sell for extra:
-96 Miata torsen differential with 4.1 FD
    -Ultrashield lightweight 14" passenger seat
    -Ultrashield harness

    Pictures:

(roll bar not welded on chassis yet, as it made it much easier to ship)

Gallery website with a bunch of pics from the project progress so far:

Also comes with domain for website:

I am located near Atlanta, GA, and pickup is greatly preferred.

The end result from this project should look similar to this:

    (same chassis/suspension design)

Probably not, as it is part of the full swap. I actually have 2 of them, as I picked up an extra one with a cracked face for prototyping a dash board.

Spiffy as hell project.. if this was the beginning of my summer I would be all over it, but alas school starts again soon. Good luck with the sale! I'll mention it to some of the kit car guys around here (Athens for now) and see if I can get you any bites.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

Thanks. I will try to sell it for a bit longer, and worst case, I will start parting it out on ebay in a couple of weeks

Thanks, found more interest in everything but the s2k drivetrain, so I might put that up for sale by itself when the chassis stuff is gone.

Yeah... in retrospect, I should have just built up the s2000 instead of stripping it. It looked sad when I was done with it:
