    Default 89 kdx200 dirtbike **cheap**

my cousin gave me this dirt bike and i have no use for it. its an 86 kdx200 2 stroke. it runs and i have rode it in a while. i tried to start it but it wouldn't, i was told that it won't start cause i need a new spark plug but don't hold me to it i just want to get rid of it. the seat has duck tape all over it, the clutch cable is rigged but it works, needs new back brakes, tires are good, rear fender broke

    so i'm asking $350

Its actually an enduro bike so it can be registered and ridden on the street legally.

I believe that's a KDX200 and not a KTX. It is a very cool bike. I had one just like it except it still had the original green color.

You also can NOT ride it on the street. For motorcycles, you have to have a tag, turn signals, headlight, and mirrors to legally ride it.

    Good luck in your sale.

Just FYI, those bikes when they get older they get finickier.

The spark plug is very easy to change on the fly. I used to do it on mine literally on the trail. If you don't mix the pre-mix just exactly right, the bike tends to foul out plugs rather easily. Luckily it is very easy to swap out a plug and she'll fire right up and you just keep on trucking. As long as you ride her and don't just putt putt it around, it won't foul out plugs.

Also leaving the gas sitting in the tank for too long will also make her more difficult to start.

Try changing out the spark plug and once you get her started, run all the old gas out of her. Put fresh gas in and again change out the plug since it will likely be dirtied up by running the old gas out. If you have a fresh plug and fresh gas, she starts on the first kick everytime. Mine did.
