Default 06 Si vs Type R

This is me driving my friend's 06 Si and we're doing a roll from 60 with my friend who just got his Type R that day. Lol. Stock Si, Type R had bolt-ons. I/H/E.

food for thought....the Type R (01) weighs 2822 with 195 Horsepower and 130 torque from the factory...

the si is only 55 more pounds (2877) with 197 HP and 139 foot pounds so the power to weight ratios are almost the same...

    type R=14.47 pounds per HP
    SI=14.60 pounds per HP

to me seems like the type R driver just drives better ( or worse based upon your stance)

lol no it wasnt that he was a better driver. not much you can do from a 60 roll and just gun. i shift quicker than he does. it was just the tranny. SI tranny is too short and the Type R had longer gears. he bought the type r for like 8 and it was just bolt ons. this type r beat us but we raced another type r, we were half a car behind pulled a half a car ahead of him. lol so i think my friends type r might have something in it we dont know about.

Quoted from Car and Driver, March 1997 (I'm typing this str8 from the magazine)
Acura Integra Type R: front engine, FWD 2+2 passenger, 3 door coupe
    Estimated as tested price:$24,000
    195hp @8000 rpm, 130 ft-lbs @ 7300 rpm
    Redline @ 8400 rpm
    wheelbase: 101.2 in.
    track F/R : 58.3/58.1
    Length: 172.4 in.
    hieght : 51.9 in.
    Ground clearance : 5.3 in.
    Curb weight: 2560 lbs
    weight distribution F/R : 62.5/37.5
    fuel capacity : 13.2 gal.
    Oil capacity : 5.1 qt
    Top speed: 143 mph @ 8000 rpm
So that's 108.5 hp per liter, 4619 ft per second (at redline) piston speeds, 15.2 @93 mph (as tested car had 700 miles on the odometer), though a stock ITR has been known to hit 14's the way they sit. Oviously, there was a driver error. That Si didn't loose by much. Those in factory tune run a 15.1 @ 95 mph the way they sit.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

You guys are morons.......you couldn't even keep it on a road where it was just you two. I only can hope you both lose your dl's before you kill someone one day. But hey....street racing is the "cool" thing right?

yours would be too if you didn't use nitrous. but since your motor can't make more power on its own. I guess you have to use a bottle. and if you ever lose you can have excuses like: my bottle pressure was low, the bottle wasn't worm enough, I forgot to purge..................

no. this coming from a guy that is trying to say that just cause you have a faster car than the ones in the video, you shouldn't say the cars are slow. cause LS/Vtec doesn't say much. maybe if his car with the stock motor and without the bottle was running the times he is. then that would be a fast car. the cars in the video still have the stock engines.

I would pull both cars but you don't see me saying they are slow

Gabreal(sp) they're slow, end of story. kevin's CRX may not have a big and bad motor, but that car is quick. he can say whatever he wants cause that fool can back it up. that SI and type R are slow. and don't argue with steveo, this guy knows what hes talking about, aight. hahaha! /thread

I'm not arguing, I'm stating the facts. you can't say something is slow unless you're comparing it with something that has about the same size motor and weight. and if one car is a lot faster then the other one, then you can say it slow. cause if he wants to call that car is slow, that only makes his car slow too. and with the right person saying it, that CRX is very slow.

there is a difference between slow and slower

what does the CRX do the qtr in?

It would surprise me if you were fast on the highway with the stock motor

but since there is nothing stock about your motor, nobody should be surprised

whatever. this thread sucks. BOTH cars are slow as balls. The Type R is a over rated over priced car. I love it, but with 100k miles and they selling 'em for 10-12k....nann. A little pricey for an n/a 4 banger. If you ain't got boost or juice...go home.

The best handling FWD drive car ever made in the history of Mars is not overpriced. The cleaner they are, and the more years go by - the more they will be worth. I wish I was there to shut Kevin's mouth on motor OR the bottle.
