    Default HD setups anyone?

So who else is up to date with the High Def TV and surround sound setups? I am running a 34" Toshiba 16:9 hd set with a Sony 1000 watt surround sound system here in my condo. Unfortuantely all of this is with the Charter HD box that sucks....but, I could never go back to reg. tv, sometimes i dont watch programs just because they arent broadcast in HD.

Edit- heres a list of my model numbers, etc

    Toshiba 34HF66
    Sony DAV-FX10
    Charter HD dvr with HDMI
    Xbox 360

All I've got is a Pioneer 50" PDP-5070HD Plasma with a Bose 5.1 system. I've yet to see it broadcast in HD since I don't have a Comcast HD box. The picture quality is really bright and the speakers are actually really good. Sometimes I mistake the TV's speakers for Bose since they project sound very loud and clear. The price is steep but is well worth it. We got a few hundred knocked off since the guy at Best Buy mistakenly price matched it to the wrong model Pioneer.

i had a pretty sweet setup recently but i moved it but it was 2 westinghouse lcd screens a 32 and a 42 in lcd screen i had the ps3 connected to the 42in and next to it i had the 32 running directtv hd. so i could play ps3 and watch tv at the same time. then i have a logitech gaming surround sound its not the best out but definately does the job. i just split it up though since im moving.. leaving the 32in at the parents house for them and im tking the 42 with me

    models were

    westinghouse 32- LTV-32w6
    westinghouse 42- w4207
    logitech surround- z5300-e digital 5.1

Sharp LC-37D90U LCD TV. Running HD-DVD from the XBOX360. For sound I have the Yamaha YSP-1000 sound projector. I have charters HD service, and they carry like 19 channels of high def. I find myself watching lots of discovery channel and ESPN. By the way 1080P is good, don't settle for less if your buying a screen over a 40". Mine is only 37" but I went for 1080P just to say I did.

Yea my parents have a 70" 1080p Sony SXRD at their house, the play station 3 looks great on it. But we wont see any broadcasts in 1080p for a while I dont think, so on my college budget I settled for 1080i.

I don't have anything fancy, just these

    Living Room:

    Samsung 46" 1080P LCD (LN-S4696DX)
Oppo DV-981HD 1080P Upconverting DVD Player (don't have money for a Blue ray player yet, lol. But this one is prolly the best one out there)
    Belkin PureAV PF60
    Pannasonic 7.1 Digital Rcvr
    Polk CSi3 Center
    MTX Monitor 12 Fronts
    Polk R150 Surround Sides
    Polk R300 SB
    MTX 12" Power Sub
Couple Behringer pro Series mixer and processors for the Studio/Karaoke
    Shure XLR pro Mics
All connected to a Custom Built HTPC for Studio recording and playback, etc.
And sadly, a VCR still  because we still watch those HK Series

    Bedroom:

    Sharp Aquos 46" 1080P LCD (LC46D82U)
    Belkin PureAV PF60
    Zenith 1080i Upconverting DVD Player
    Kenwood 7.1 Digital Rcvr
    Onkyo M-282 Amplifier
    Polk CSi25 Center
    Polk R50 Fronts
    Polk R150 Surround Sides
    Polk R150 SB
    Klipsch 10" SUB-10
    VocoPro Mixer
    Shure Wireless Mics
And don't forget, the VCR still

These are also connect to my room PC as well.

If you haven't figured it out, I'm Viet and we all love Karaoke, lol.
Btw, I strongly recommend these Digital Amplifiers, they're good, very clean, and also powerful as well. Pretty good choice for home studio as the sounds are very clean. I had an Onkyo Receiver before, but it's not as clean when we're doing Karaoke so I switched it out. I've always want the high end Harman Kardon setups but no money yet. Hopefully we get get them when I got another house.

very nice....the only thing i have tied into my laptop and desktop is the "iTunes air port". My, close to 2000 songs are upstairs on my desktop and I can open iTunes in the living room on my laptop and wirelessly play any of those songs through the surround sound system, and also any of my roommates iTunes music. It's pretty cool, once in a while the signal gets interrupted but the sound quality is CD and I figured it would suck!

edit: the air port is great for parties! thats the main reason i bought it

oh and who is actually running digital surround sound? ....as in an Optical cable that seperates all the channels of sound on programs that support it. This is a pet peeve of mine, some people invest all this money into a tv, sound system, etc... then simply plug in left and right audio cables and everything comes out of every speaker and they think it's in surround sound!

As much as Digital as I can: DVI, Optical Toslink and HDMI cables here.

I Optical Toslink from my TV to My Receiver (HDTV broadcast), HDMI from DVD to TV (that carries Audio as well) for picture, as well as Toslink from DVD to Receiver.

Also, from PC: Toslink to Receiver, and DVI from Video Card to TV as well as IEEE to TV as well for Advance features.

Anyone on here got a projector? Nothing like watching a 6' wide screen in HD.

Comcast has added a good number of HD channels here too, we also have a HDDVD player and I bought a PS3 for the blu-ray player (and awesome graphics).

    Living Room:
480p Infoucs projector (scales everything to and from 1080p)
    Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD Player
    Playstation 3 HDMI
Harmon/Kardon AVR240 - 7.1 w/ 4 polk audio for surrounds.. polk for the center and the 2 fronts are Bose and a Yamaha sub.
I don't know any of the other model numbers off hand.

I know that within the next few months we're looking to get a Mitsubishi 720p HC3000U projector to replace this one.

I really can't wait until GT5 comes out so I can hook up a steering wheel.

    Room:
21" Gateway FPD2185W, DCDi HD Monitor with HDMI, Component, VGA, s-video in.
    4 Sony SRS-002 speakers
    Sony STR-DE597 Receiver
    Dell XPS 410
    Optical sound from my computer..
