If you have it on you, a cop isnt going to arrest you for not having it, Plus everyone's insurance is in a data base that they check when they pull you over, so if you have it, it is in this database they run and a card is not even needed, Sorry but there has to be more to that story then that

if you can't afford insurance then you can't afford the car... it has nothing to do with being rich. it's smart vs. stupid here. if you can't afford the insurance then sell it and get something that's cheaper. liability insurance is cheap on older vehicles and if you can't afford it then you just plain shouldn't be on the road.

Ok, so, imagine this kid, imagine you lose control of your car. imagine you sideswipe another car sending them barreling into the gurad rail. they have a hard impact and break their leg. guess whose fault it was, yours. so now you have about 10k in medical bills to pay to cover their ambulance ride, their surgery, everytihng else cause the accident was your fault. not to mention the damage to their vehicle . where do you think that money comes from? BINGO, INSURANCE. oh wait, you dont have it, ahh, then they will sue you, your family, and your cousins for every dime you have to recoup the expenses you made them have. you also havent even factored in that you would go to jail for no proof of insurance, there's money for lawyers and bond now. no insurance company will insure you now , or if they do it will cost 1000$ a month. you file bankruptcy cause you cannot afford to pay for medical bills and vehicle damage. congrats, you just ruined your life and someone elses.
