Buying an Elite: need advice!

I'm getting an Xbox 360 Elite when it comes out. After being a loyal Sony customer for 10+ years, I've stepped over to the other side . I love the PS3, but right now, I need something to pass the time and the PS3 is way too expensive and I wish I needed a Blu ray player, but I don't. So what when are all the good games coming out this year? What are some accessories that you guys recommend for the 360? What else can I do with the 360 besides playing games? I heard you can record live TV, etc.

I can only afford one game when I buy the Elite. I'm torn between Gears of War, Elder Scrolls IV, or Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

get Rainbow six Vegas,Obivlion,Forza 2 and guitar hero2 if u dont have it on PS2

Rainbow 6 Vegas.....that game has much more playbility after you beat the single player, because the online play is that much better....and imo, the controls are alot easier than gears of war

the two games I am really anticipating is Forza 2 which is due out May 15....and GTA IV in August...

as for Halo...I didnt preorder because I am gonna wait and see how it plays out because there are so many rumors that piss me off that I can wait.

oh yeah, be sure to invest in the recharge packs or rechargeable batteries as the 360 controllers eat up double A's like it's nobodies business. I ended up going with some rechargeables, energizer digital camera rechargeable batteries that are 2500 mah....which are used for devices that are high drain, so they just last longer...I paid like 18bucks for a 4pack with charger. The cheapest recharge packs are made by nyoko for 35 bucks for 2 recharge packs and charge station.

I also have the microsoft wireless adapter 100 bucks, which is awesome...I've never been dropped and it's plug n play. there are other options, but take a little more work.

Dead Rising....fun, but gets boring really quickly (zombie killing)
Battlestation Midway....fun, but very slow moving and very repetitive
Madden 07 .....love it, just your standard football game
Tiger Woods 07....fun because I like golf
Moto GP 06....crazy ass handling, gets old fast
Gears of War....cool graphics, controls are funky to say the least....more fun with 2 player
Rainbow 6 Vegas....excellent game all around, fun in 1 player, even more fun with 2 player, even better online

wow thanks for all the info guys. more reps where i can! i think i'm probably going to pick up the 360 elite with graw 2 and an extra pack of rechargeable batteries. then maybe forza 2 when i finish graw 2.
