i wouldn't buy it, they are coming out with yet another 360 later this year which will have an entirely new processor, most likely a HD-DVD drive since they will know which format is winning at that point, AND the HDMI capabilities and 120 GB will still be there.
not to mention it may get an even newer and sleeker design

The hard drive iwll be available for purchase, but its 169$ i think by itself, and its not black.
And at gamestop if u trade in ur old premium they willg ive a discount price for the elite. and u only pay 200$ or around that. And u can get a Elite. And they also have a memory swap station where if u buy a elite, u can bring ur old harddrive in and transfer ur data from the 20g, to the 120g.
Supposedly the core are gonna be discountinued, so its just gonna be premium and elites only.
Good informtion, can you prove any of it? The internet is full of misleading stories and I would just like to be sure these are facts not BS, if they are that rocks...

a co worker passed this info to me. he went to gamestop and thats what they told him. Because asked about trading in his premium for the elite.
Im not 100% on the price 120g itself, but i think he told me 169.99$, and it will work with the previous 360's.
but the 120g hardrive on the Elite will not work on the older 360's. Thats why they will be selling the 120g by itself and it wont be black it will be the regular white/grey.
He said they have stopped producing the cores also.. and the price will drop for the cores so they can get rid of them.
Im thinkin the premium price might drop also and will be fazed out in the future, especially "if" they are gonna release another 360 with built in hd-dvd..especially id they keep smackin sony around...lol
the only reason they didn't put it in this one is because it is an unproven format for dvd's and it would be a waste of money for consumers to buy it now, most people don't buy High Definition DVD's, only a limited consumer population use hardware that can support that.
they ARE releasing another 360 in the future, and it will have a better processor, save your cash as i said before. if the memory is a concern to you then get a External Hard Drive and mod it on to it. they are really cheap now a days anyways, you can get a 500 GB one for like 200$...
so unless you got money to waste, wait for the next 360

ya don't buy this, overpriced IMO. $20 more can get you a PS3 w/ blue ray. and $170 for a 120 GB hard drive? how f***king ridiculous.
now that I think about it; xbox is basically doing what they did before when the original xbox sales started to slow down. Change the color(s) and add small extra features that made it slightly more expensive.

wow, now that you said there's going to be ANOTHER 360, i'm getting a little pissed. i was going to get the elite since it's got 2x the hard drive as the $600 ps3, but if Microsoft keeps churning out new 360s, I might as well get a PS3 instead. we are talking about consoles here, not computers. i shouldnt have to upgrade every year... i'll wait til after E3 this summer to see what new consoles versions come out and how much they are. right now, i'm leaning strongly towards PS3 since i know it will most likely stay the same. i gotta admit 360 games are pretty awesome right now, but it's useless to buy a console that will get outdated in 6 months.
i dont like the elite 360 it looks like a ricer with black primer paint,ill stick to the old white
only thing they are doing is trying to keep up. its actually a good thing. Its not like the new console can will do more htan the previous one. it just has more extras..alot of people complained that the 20g is too small, which it is if u download arcade games and game saves, and music that 20g is gone before uknow it. and not everyone wants to use third party equipment..
