    It's because there's no B16 under the hood .
I would hate to have that baby this time of year with all the pollen. Such is the burden of white (and/or black) cars. Shame I don't see many hachi's like that on this side of the world. Or I'm just in the wrong side of Atlanta.

Nah. 16V with the timing belt cover removed, nice wires, and a fancy oil cap. Can't tell if it's a blue top or red top but it sure is pretty inside and out.

Its def the stock bluetop (largeport).

its clean, though he needs to fix his AFM so it sits level, and def get some JDM bumpers...they look so much cleaner

Well back in the early 80's they were very competitive road race cars (IT classes etc) here in the US. They are light weight, Rear wheel drive, 5 link rear, cheap, and had an amazing twin cam motor for back then. remember anything N/A 4 cylinder making 100+hp factor was pretty exclusive. later other companies caught on and the Corolla died off here, with the exception of a few enthusiasts. Then came that God awful Anime show Initial D, and hell broke loose. Then everyone in japan was wanting to run like Takumi and drift an "86" lol....then slowly but surely the US market caught on, and everyone and their mother wanted an outdated, underpowered version of the same car that became popular in the TV series. For the most part, the only reason ppl run them now a days is the Nostalgic effect they have on the owners, that or as an entry level drift car, in which case is ab the only thing they are somewhat good for or competitive at....they handle like shit. In any case they are pretty fun cars to own and if done up right can even look pretty good. As for Accords though......wtf were you thinking!

Wtf? Corollas do not handle like shit. The one i own now has Cut springs and handles very nicely for cut springs. And nice set of hts shocks and choosing the correct spring would be alot better. Imo the corolla is awesome to drive, moded 4age redtop can put some decent power. N/a ofcourse. And not everyone owns one. unlike a honda. 240s etc.

You're right SOME corollas dont, but the AE86 is not a Amazing handling car in todays standereds, in fact those hondas that "everyone has" would run circles around it for the most part (ex. look at any IT series that still runs them...they are dominated by hondas lol)....if you want a great handling corolla get an AE92 or AE111. both FWD and both would hand even a somewhat modded AE86 its ass on track. CUT SPRINGS!! ....please get that fixed. i will give you that though...they are very fun to drive, being that they are very predictable and somewhat peppy that going back to the Nostalgic feeling i was talking ab earlier.....the 16v is a pretty fun motor to scoot around in but it takes ALOT of money to make a redtop "fast".....believe me in know. 20v or GZE is where its at as far as a somewhat fast, yet streetable 4ag is concerned. I'm not downing your car at all...i happen to like most all model years of corolla (especially late 80's early 90's) but the current over hyped attitude that they are some kinda handling/drift monster just bothers me......i'm not a huge fan boy but you should really try out those honda's before u knock them

Main reason I like mine is because old Toyota's are all I've ever known. My first car was a hand-me-down 1983 5-speed Corolla SR5 hatchback that I received when I was 15. My parents bought it when they married in 1984 and it had been in our family ever since. My dad gave me the car and the Toyota repair manual and said that if I can have it running in a year then I will have a car to drive when I got my license. I still have that car. I still love that car, but time came for me to have my own car that I could tinker with since the '83 was pretty much done. I decided I'd stick to what I know and went to the AE86 since it had more power, looked cooler, and it wasn't too expensive since I don't have wads of cash like a lot of people I see on here. Practical, easy to work on, and it's fun to drive (RWD FTW!!). But as I've seen on this forum many many times: to each his (her) own.

Cause everyone had their own taste, and they are way more fun to drive than a honda.

And aperantly(sp) not everyone likes them...

I've been trying to find one for a while, but the only ones I've found are coupes, and are really crappy.

I've owned nothing but hatchbacks, save for my Prelude, and that's what I'd want.

They're just to hard to find in good condition, and then people want a mint for them.

Im not stuck on n/a, been def thinking either a gze swap or spending more cash on the chassis to reinforce for a sr.

Idk. You make a good point and cant really argue with it.

well if you're not stuck on NA...i would def go Smallport GZE (AE101 GZE) or if you have alittle extra cash build it up using a 7afe crank and aftermarket 7af rods/wrist pins. this will give you HUGE amounts or tq, basically making a 1.8 liter version of the 4agze....aka a 7agze! also an easy way to 200whp! ...with this set up you may not make more power, but you will hit 15-16psi (aftermarket pulley) before the SR even hits threshold (spools) lol...INSTANT TQ!
