    Default Schaub traded to Texans

From what I hear we will get the #8 pick from Houston, hopefully this means we will have the #8 and #10 pick in the draft and what else does this say?

THE FALCONS ARE STICKING WITH MICHAEL VICK!

update: Supposedly we get the #8 pick, a 2nd round pick and another 2nd round pick next year.

Why? Replace the vick with schaub and it's still a true statement

The other thing we will see out of Schaub this year is what he now has in common with Vick, an offensive line that cannot block.

The writing is on the wall, Petrino wants a team that intimidates. I think the Falcons of last year was about finesse which was nice the first 3 games, but its not consistent. The spread option was pretty when executed properly but teams caught on quick.

Smashmouth football is consistent and says whether we win or lose it certainly wont be a walk in the park for the other team, teams do not look forward to playing aggressive and intimidating teams.

Personally I like the way things have gone, we had a good team last year but the coaching staff was not a good match. Every addition we have made so far have been no nonsense players. When wide receivers are dropping balls who is going to speak up and get in their face? Joe Horn. We have a fullback that is like a hammer and I believe the reason why Vick scrambled so much is because he could not audible. Imagine you're looking at a defense that you KNOW is going to shut down the play you're about to run but you cannot do anything about it? Hell I'd run first too.

Peyton Manning audibles on almost every play, I can literally mimic his actions under center because he does it every time. He sees blitz, he'll call an audible.. tell the offensive line.. inform the running back then sets up in a shotgun formation, he does his usual leg stomp and snap.. it seems to work.

Damn right! But it's "ONLY VICKS FAULT". People need to get out of here with blaming a TEAM'S downfall on one person. And I agree last year team was a great team and with the new additions to the team, the falcons will be a contender!

    +1 for ya

I will agree with you that a teams short comings can not be blammed on one individual person. Therefore, I agree that the entire teams poor perforance should not be soley blammed on Vick. However, I have to say this also. I am so tired of people saying the only reason Vick is doing so badly is because of Jim Mora. One person, Jim Mora, can not be blammed for the poor performance of an NFL QB. An all-round player should be able to adjust to whatever offense. Jim Mora did not force Vick to throw a middle finger in the air either. That just shows Vicks character, or lack there of. I dont blame the falcons loosing season on one person, but I think it is lame and stupid to blame Vick's poor performance on one person as well. It is just a cop-out to blame Vick's poor performance on Mora. HE is an NFL quarterback for gods sake, if it was high school it may be different. I honestly dont care weather they keep Vick or get rid of him, but his additude needs to be readjusted fast, because if the city of Atlanta does not stand behind him, neither will the franchise.

Weather or not it's true i think it would be a pretty good move....

shockley will move up to second string and it will open up the salary cap a little more and we will get decent draft picks.

Falcons are trying to build a dynasty

lol, if that were the case then they should've started by signing a dynasty qb (read: peyton manning, carson palmer, tom brady, etc)

Not with Shockley, they won't. I really liked Schaub at QB. They should have traded him for picks instead of Schaub, but I guess they wouldn't have gotten as good of picks. Later, QD.

Shockleys college career > shaubs college career

We're in the pros now. College career isn't even in the topic of this discussion.

We're in the pros now. Disagree with that. Lolol. As probably 100% of the NFL players will agree with me, college and pro ball are completely different. Nothing wrong with having faith in a player, but just because he "played his ass of at UGA," that doesn't mean he still be the same good QB in the NFL. Later, QD.

For all of you who say this is a stupid move and speak so highly of Schaub... THANK YOU! Its because of you guys that the Falcons can take a 3rd round draft pick who has never won a game and trade up to a first round pick with two second round picks.. its just great.

Supposedly Falcons are just moving up to #8 and giving up the #10 pick to the Texans. By the way Schaub will still be a backup to Carr.. maybe we can swing a deal with the Texans next year and get a couple of 2nd rounders for a kicker... suckers.

Trust me this is not speculation, this deal has been done.

well there goes our insurance policy...i'm guessing they are trying to get calvin johnson? I don't see too many problems with the falcons, so why did they opt to get more draft picks? bad move...we'll end up signing someone bananas like JEFF GEORGE when we find out vick is taking the team down the drain...

I guess the 1yr deal he signed with the Falcons was negotiable? This was a pretty interesting move being that Schaub shinned coming off of the bench. Any word on if the Falcons are looking to pick up a key player or two?

what? folks, in case you havent noticed, schaub is 0-2 as a starter with a 58% career completion percentage. GODDAMN the texans may be the dumbest team in the nfl, they keep dropping the ball, first signing carr and dom capers, then passing on bush for mario williams, now they sign an unproven qb who has only won in the preseason to a multi year contract. what the fuck, it could always be worse falcon fans, you could be a texans "fan"

6 years $38 million for Schaub.. I guess he is going to be starting. Texans do play the Falcons this year, that will be an interesting game.

The trade was pending on Schaub working a deal with the Texans, obviously they have worked a deal now and it should become official.
