the demo is great, and battlefield 1942, and battlefield vietnam were both lots of fun with huge replayablity...I will go ahead and say that this one will do the same, and the graphics are nice in the demo, so I am sure the final product will be amazing....I am picking mine up tomorrow after class...
Well I went in yesterday to preorder it, hopefully it'll be in today. Looks awesome.

man, I've only got to play it late last night....
but the game is badass......graphics are pretty good, but the huge maps and online play is awesome! you can get field upgrades if you are good and get different weapons, but right now, I just find the highest point in each map and just sit there and snipe fools....it's pretty accurate on weapon realistics, like even though you can see a guy who is about 1 mile out, you cant hit him....
vehicles are fun.....the new skydiving feature is awesome, you can ride shotgun in a jet or a blackhawk and in the blackhawk you can fast rope out or just jump and open you chute......so you can land on rooftops and then quietly do what you want to do...
Game is awesome. Last night the game played pretty good, this afternoon it seems like most of the 64 players servers are laggy beyond playable. Oh ya, and the rankings take quite awhile to update, my only gripes about the game. Aside from that I've lovin' it. I still suck at flying tho haha, guess I'll have to stick to the sniper rifle.
you and me both, I cant fly anything to save my life, I always just get some altitude and then ditch and parachute my way to safety....
you aint no sniper till you jump out, open your chute and then snipe off 3 guys on the way down......

lol, well i found i have a knack for usin' the side howlitzers on the blackhawk. usually i'm either a sniper, or an anti tank, depending on what map it is... hate trying to snipe in the foggy swamp lol. but ya, definatly a very awesome game.
What type of pc's do u guys have? I have a p4 2.66 ghz... 256mb ram... Nvidia GeForce fx 5200... 40gb hd.... Will that run it well? Oh yea... I had 512mb ram but when I rebooted(Cleared EVERYTHING) It now says I have 256... How can I fix that?
I just upgraded my mobo/cpu/ram... got an amd 3800+ 64, gig of ddr ram, ati radeon 9800 pro. You would definatly need to upgrade your ram to atleast a gig to play this game like it's meant... anything less and i think it'd be choppy as hell. As for how to fix it... it's just plug and play.. open your case, make sure the ram is in all the way. do you have one 512 stick or 2 256 sticks?
Not sure exactly... But I think its 2 256 sticks... Anyway I can just put the graphics on lame mode and play lag free? I can play cs 1.6 lag free lol. Plus I got cable.
eh... well cs 1.6 is ughh... about 6 years old, or atleast the engine is.. thats why you can play it lag free on 512mb of ram = ) Check out the game requirements.... it's a very demanding game. I'm running on low graphics now simply because I want as little lag/choppiness as possible since I like being a sniper.

with a gig of ram. pretty much lag free. with 512, i wouldn't guarantee it. The REQUIRED amount of ram is 512mb or more... thats not the recommended, thats the required to just run the game... so i wouldn't think so... you can get more ram pretty cheap tho.. depending on what kind you have.. i just bought a new 512 stick for $70.
I'd upgrade that card too, you can get a ati 9800 pro for like $120 now....but alot of guys runnings anything less and even on the lowest graphic settings still get a bit of choppiness

Ya don't buy CS Source, ya buy HL2, CS:source is a mod for it, just like the first CS was to HL1. But ya man, this is a totally different kind of game than CS. Much more wide spread, up to 64 people on a server, boats, jeeps everywhere, tanks, planes, choppers... Totally different than CS, and definatly worth the initial cost, and any needed upgrade costs lol.
On a side note, I've just hit Private First class, and got 2 badges and 2 medals so far. Still waiting to unlock the next sniper rifle tho heh.
i had 1942 and i have vietnam and the 32 player games are insane so is the 64 player.

Well, I am up to rank Lance Corporal now, and unlocked the sniper rifle.. Although I seem to suck with it lol, I think I've only gotten a total of 3 kills with it since I got it. Not as accurate as the starter rifle, but a bit more powerful, still not one hit kills to the chest, takes em down to about 20%.
I've just made lance corporal and I've unlocked the new medic kit....not too bad...I'm gonna work on the assault next......the starter rifle is better imo....I couldnt hit shit with that new one...
Have you noticed that the xp bar is going up very slowly now? I haven't won any badges, ribbons, or medals, and barely got any xp in my bar for the last 4-5 days. Dunno if maybe I'm just suckin' now or if they changed somethin.

i can't get this game to play... i think there is a conflict with my sound card =\. too bad i can't afford to drop some money into my system right now. the little time i have to play before the game crashes is a lot of fun.
yeh after you get up to about lance corporal the status bar goes VERY slow toward the next rank, im about 3/4 the way there and it takes awhile. We should all play sometime get like an IA clan together haha

gimme a month or so and a little practice, and i'm in... i really like the game until it crashes.
i think some of the crashing is gonna be resolved in the new patch comin out for it. Also if you have anything in your computer overclocked try turnin it down alittle and that may help with the crashes too

i really think the game doesn't like my sound card (its a little old, but its done what i needed it to do so far). i'm going to try upgrading that a little bit and getting a little more ram. when is the patch supposed to come out?

I doubt very much that it's your soundcard causing the issues. It's most likely your video card. Battlefield 2 has a very short list of supported video cards...

i upgraded my card to a card on the list specifically mentioned. i know its supported =\. it may not be the sound card causing the issue, but i do know that there is a known issue with the soundblaster card (which i have). i also swapped it out with a generic card, which changed the problem somewhat, and that is where my suspicion comes from. i also have the version 1.02 patch already =\
if i can find the spare time, i may take you up on that offer though. =)
