Default ATTN: Auto enthusiasts! It's time for a new movement in tuning!

ATTN: Import Atlanta, Tuners, Car Enthusiasts of the west coast.

I'm a behind-the-scenes kind of guy, I'm a listener and an observer. For a while now I have been involved heavily in the scene and tuning culture... without a car. I have watched what others have done and what people respect and what they dont and the evolution of the viral word "rice." It has been hard for me to sit on the sidelines in my favorite game, but I have been changing my mind this whole time as to what set of wheels would represent me best, but I digress.

That rant to say, I see a potential for a new trend in Auto design/tuning culture.

Remember those 50's cars? Those cars had style.

Big, Bold, Beautiful (just like I like my women)

I can't help but feel something was lost in translation...

The point is, we need to bring back the beauty of the car and make a statement with all our improvements in automotive technology. We can still construct these outrageous vehicles with safety and fuel efficiency in mind. Sometimes you gotta be a little crazy and blaze your own trail.

This callout is toward the automakers on one level, but in order to get their attention, the customer needs to demand this change.

This is where we all chime in. Grab your wrenches, kick on that welder.
Our mission: slam, shave, weld, fabricate, do whatever it takes to drop the pants of the auto industry. Corner them into making works of art again.

    -------

    My contribution...

Well, I'll do what I can from my end.. (the broke PS artist side lol)

I burnt a bit of time on photoshop, here is what I see.

These SUVs have the bulky nature of old cars, just the wrong ride height(So, I fixed that part).

    and something I found:

I love this look, its low and mean. Full and athletic. High belt lines and contrast of plastics to metals. Dramatic lighting, beastly looks, slammed stance.

Ok, now here is the challenge... beat California to it We(east coast) need our own style, this is just one idea.

Let your mind sizzle on this one for a bit.

Aight, thats my rant... should I grab my flamesuit or can I get a 'hell yeah!' ?

I agree with pioneering our own style. You know it's going to have to be done with affordable cars, right? Is it just me or does the west coast have ballin' clenches of green?

Yeah, true. I think modding these, might kick someone like Scion into making something affordable, with that kind of styling.

We do need to come up with some unique, respectable style. On affordable cars.

I'm really scratching my head on this one... I know now is a good time to start something huge.

Won't be an original though. It'll only be a replica but I love it as well.

An original is unreasonable, you wouldn't want to drive it. So a kit car, or buy one built?

The thing with california.. its just a state known for rich people, and people with money. And has always been a rich state.. until the last few years..lol. But they seem to have alot more resources, available. being the closest state to Japan always gives them an edge with imports. The south has always been a hotrod area at heart, i mean you have exotics on the west, and bad ass hot rods in the south.

California has its own style that just go along with the lifestyle out there. The slammed vehicles that are good for nothing but cruising, and looking good driving up and down the coast. midwest is fast detroit muscle... south is hot rods.

This is true, but we can still try things differently. Just because they have more money and more asians doesn't mean we can't be trendsetters with any automotive category!

Soooooo beautiful. My fiance loves old aircooled cars. She owns a corvair and wants a ghia also. She wants me to get a hold of one of these and I certainly agree with her.

Well, I have choice 3, a Karmann Ghia. Unfortunately, there are a few things left to be done before it will be able to be seen and thus I have few recent pics.
