PBS, when you make 50K, let me know if its enough..Originally Posted by phatboislim

i would be happy with a 100K a year job... for a little while
i dont think 100k is impossible by the time im 40.
Then again with inflation and whatnot?
Nothing more? I wont lie I make a tad more than that and things aren't tight but they sure are not quite comfortable either. Taxes totally kill my pay.Originally Posted by phatboislim
he said semi-realistic..i can say 50k/yr because i dont require alot..all i need is enough to have a decent house with a mortgage not exceeding 2k/month and a decent car, which i already have and a DD which i already have..yea i may get more, but right now..i'm almost able to get what i want and i'm way less than the 50k mark..

I need at least 200-300k to live a normal life. Ya seems a lot but when you look at things most average household are now making six figure salary. I ono when this happened but damn.
I make around 45k after taxes... enough to live the way I live but I still have to budget extra things I want... car parts... etc. If wifey had a decent job we'd be rolling in it though. Right now I pay all the bills.

The more you have the more you'll want.
Id be fine with 100k. My lady is a Dental Hygenist so her salary is around 60-80k, so both of ours put together will be in the high 160ks (when I get my 100k job LOL)
id say right around 120k or so would be comfortable. that way id have plenty for retirement or what ever.
ehh, I want some NICE things.. not lavish but really really nice. I'm a sucker for exclusive ish so.. at the least $15k a month but shooting for twice that. I don't really put a limit on what I can potentially make but what I've mentioned here is a real goal that I am working toward now.
My salary was nice a couple of years ago but as someone said before you'll always want more, I wish I could think more like phatboi because it would make me a better person but I just cannot help it.
Bahahah i agree tony. Once we start earning a lil more green we cant go back to the mediocre salary.
Considering the average american makes 60, I would shoot for 100. Money isnt everything.

I can't give an honest answer because enough is never enough for me....
I make close to the 100k mark and after taxes and child support, I'm still unhappy...Content isn't what I want to be.
150k to 175k
Resize sig area!
personally, a net annual income of about 70k would be fine, for a little while.
I live good, so who would I be to complain.
Resize sig area!
i'd say 60-70k to live comfortably without so much worry...
but to truly live how i want to live 100k or more a year...
175-200k... which we will be in later this year

Well, I'd personally like to make around 60K myself. Now I wouldn't want to set a limit, but the hhonest answer to this question is about you. Making more money is never the answer if you cannot budget.
Thustly if you "can't contain" yourself at one amount, you certainly won't at another. Right now my house note is $501 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath split-level( also not in the hood, before that sneaks into anyones head). I'm good with that. Would I like a 2 car garage instead of 1 sure, but would I want an extra $500-$600 added to my mortgage??? Nope, but if I didn't look at things realistically I'd do it.
If you can't budget off $30K, you'll never be able to budget off $100K+ Thats most people's problem, not saying the people in here have one. Seriously though I understand you "can't take it with you", but so many things have to go right when you spend more money.
Like say you lose your 100K job, with the economy the way it is, & going, isn't it better to have the same things with a few extra goodies on a 40K budget, vs having your lifestyle set at a 100K pay scale?? Say that 100K isn't as quickly replaced, then what?
If I lost my job, I could still off unemployment, or even a 2-job system still afford to at worst maintain the house bills. Thats my only goal to make sure my house expenses are at a point where if anything happened I could still have a place to live.
See like the wealthier people were complaining about the tax refunds, about how they're "broke" like others, somone was like" no one told you to go out & ball out on uneccessary things". Spend wisely & it won't matter what you make....Vegeta
A lot...then again, I have big-money tastes.
