One Big Ass Mistake America
I have been certified for 9 years in CPR and First Aid. I am also certified to be an aid to an instructor for the courses. I have never been in a situation to use it though.
so anyone got any cool stories?????
I have been a certified lifeguard for too long. When I was 17, I worked at a wave pool and had to pull out about 4-6 people a day from drowning. I have used both CPR and the Hymleich (however you spell it) at least 10 times and even had to use a difibulator. I tell you what, when you bring somebody back to life it is an amazing feeling. And yes, they throw up everywhere, thats why a Mask is a must when doing CPR. That and we had a V-vac with us as well.

Let's just say, we had to deal with a drowning victum, person with a cut wrists, 2 people going faint at the site of blood, and 1 person having a seisure all at the same time.
I also actually had to go in and rescue a lifeguard as well because a wave hit her the wrong way and she went under.

I have on a couple occasions, the one I remember most is a buddy that went into shock and stopped breathing on a mission in Columbia, sucks when you have to use it, especially on someone you know.
