    yes.

    get 10thousand dollars.

then pay someone who knows what they are doing to build your car before you fuck it up.

    good luck.

i would go 2jz. not saying that its a better engine than the rb26, its just probably easier to find parts and seems to be a more popular swap.

i didnt mean it like that. i was saying there must be a reason that the 2jz is more popular than the rb26.

look in the sponsors forum i have TONS of 2JZ info listed.

the 2JZ is hands down better than any RB motor including the RB26 if you are looking for big power.

the 2JZ is going to be cheaper, YES CHEAPER , than an RB26 swap from a shop. It will make MORE POWER, MORE TQ.

OEM replacement parts are a dealership away , thats not so true with the RBs

PM me if you want more info, our shop is the one doing all the 2jz swaps

    I vote for the 2jz.

Are you getting someone to do it or do you want to do it yourself?

If you are wanting to do it yourself then I think the old addage that if you have to ask then your not ready applies here.

2JZ FTMFW. Besides, not if, but when something breaks on your RB26 you will be having a fun time waiting for parts shipped over from Japan. Not only is it expensive but it is quite time consuming. If you were wondering the 2JZ is the twin turbo motor from the MKIV Supra. I may be a Nissan guy but I would say fuck Nissan in this case and just go with Toyota engine. Or better yet fuck them both. Go with a twin turbo LS1 engine. That would be a bit more unique. Or if you really want RB just try to find an R32 in the states already. Just my thoughts on it^^^

lol, you have no clue how much that would cost to build. the 2jz would be pretty venerable with that much cash put into it.

I know it would cost alot...ALOT, because i was thinking of doing a non turbo LS1 swap in a 240 before i decided to buy my 300ZX and do a twin turbo swap in that. I was just giving him another choice for a unique car. And yes with that kind of money the 2JZ would be very powerful.

Lots of BS in this thread.

If you do want to do the RB26 swap, do a lot of research. If you have any questions with the swap feel free to PM me. I would also look into getting in touch with people that actually know a lot about the RB26, like cool cat racing (in sig), cause you're gonna hear a bunch of biased BS on here.

    Check out www.freshalloy.com forums also.

2JZ handling more power on a stock block: False. There used to be a GTR in Aussie land that dragged with over 1800 hp on the stock block. I'll see if I can dig up some vids when I get a chance. Show me a 2JZ with that on a stock block.

2JZ having more torque: True. RB26's shine at high rpm, and can easily go well above thier stock redline.

2JZ power being cheaper: True. In america, simply because the RB's are not on every corner here. But if you want cheap HP, then do a LS1 swap. Lighter than both the RB and 2JZ also.

Yes, because its easier to get parts for since the skyline wasn't sold here. Which do you think is more popular in japan or aussie land? The RB26 easily.

Parts can be hard to find at first, but once you establish some links you'll be fine. Just spend a little time looking before you buy, some people will try to rape you on prices cause they think they are hard to find. They aren't.

Both are great engines, but the 2JZ has no more potential than an RB26. The RB26 is not a practical swap in the US when compared, but people with RB26's dont buy them for practicallity over here.

you just proved my point. There is no reason to do an RB26 swap when:

    1) 2JZs are CHEAPER
    2) they make MORE POWER, i dont care if 1 car halfway across the world made 1800hp on a stock motor, they BLOW up past 500whp, EVERYONE knows it. Ask Geoff at full-race.
    3) 2JZs are easier to get parts for, cheaper to make power, and more.

Nothing against the RB26, but pound for pound, the 2JZ rules. I have done 5 supras that have made 500whp with an Ebay $700 turbo kit on stock fuel pump, ecu, block, head, etc in the last 45 days. Ive never seen an RB26 make those kind of numbers stock.

RB26s cost MORE than a 2JZ, WAY more. I just got a FULL 2JZ front CLIP for $2400, i have never seen an RB26 anywhere near that price.

2JZ can rev to 8500 no problems at all, tons of guys have done it an continue to do it.

how many 8-9 second RB26s are there? how many 8-9 second supras are there?

if we were in japan i would agree with you, but WE ARENT. in america, 2JZ is supreme, no debate about it.

i have something to add as it pertains to this conversation.

you can order rb parts from your local nissan dealer now. many parts will be in hand 2-5 business days of when they were ordered. while its true a 2jz front cut can be had for less than $3000 and a good r33 rb26 motor set cant be bought for less than $3500, you need to be clear about the details. toyota put the 2jztt into everything, but the only cars that werent autos were a few supras and chasers. a 2jztt with the 6spd will cost you well in excess of $5000. now a good rb25 trans can be had for $900, making the total for rb26 engine/trans ready to go into a 240sx at about $4600. at that point its tit for tat. these arent arbitrary numbers, its what i paid for my shit and i dont have a shop backing me. the reason i used the r33 rb26 in my example is, 1. its the motor i bought and 2. its generally regarded as the best bang for the buck rb26; all the r32 problems were worked out, it will except all the n1 equipment with no modification, and its significantly cheaper than the r34 motors.

i also agree this swap will never happen.

The r 154 is the 5 speed that came in a lot of trucks right? Or is that the tranny that came in N/A supras. I remember seeing people retrofitting them for sc300s and I THINK they were handling like 600 to the wheels or something.

Isn't that the same tranny as the N/A 5 speed supra and sc 300. Don't they hold about the same power?
