    Default Performance Head Gasket Integra

What should I buy to replace the head gasket on my b18c1 integra motor?

If you are boosting them maybe a cometic. If you are NA then get a stock MLS gasket and save yourself a few bucks.

If its stock than a stock hg will work, no need to buy a high perf. gasket

Yeah sure you can use the stocker? But why?. Why tear down your engine just to replace it with stock stuff. I just blew my stock headgasket to high heaven and could have with the "skimp" route the stock hg was like $49.99 my Cometic was $105 shipped. My motto is if you gotta do it, Do right. That like building and engine from the ground up for boost with all OEM part. Defeats the purpose. You feel me.

A lot of stock HG's will seal better than aftermarket ones... this is true of the 4g63 in most cases too.

Maybe so, but still go with a performance and a set of arp studs and you'll be more than satisfied

    i feel the same

I mean yes you can use Cometic but why? Some people had had problems with Cometic head gasket sealing. We have used both and they both work....

    GSR---800whp on cometic
    H22---600whp on OEM
H22---600whp on cometic and it blew.
yes all had arp head studs

There are always good and bad... if you dont have the money go with OEM and copper spray. If you want to spend the money go with cometic. But, OEM has been holding 600whp pretty damn good for me

Ya, but the stock is 3 layers and I've now found is what most everyone at performance shops use anyway. They even have been known to take it down to 2 layers to improve performance with no problems.

HG's don't improve any performance. They can be considered a fuse, if anything. Maybe there's something in people's heads that makes them thing that OEM parts are inferior to any and all aftermarket parts... not sure... but stock HG's seal and work great.

Besides, I'd rather blow a head gasket than a block.

Same here 641whp and blown Cometic hg. Just use copper spray on it, spray a couple of layers on it and youll be good. You can find Cometic gaskets cheap as well, for around $70...Using a OEM gasket isnt gonna make your build half ass, Thats all a GE hg is, its a bored out OEM gasket...
