phone question ppl

ok i was talkin for a bit on the phone and randomly had the idea to do a quick

#646# right... (that is the minute checker)

and it says

1000 whenever minutes used
and 67 additional minutes used.

I remember i went over a few months ago, but i'm not 100% on what it said. Does this mean i went 67 minutes over? Is there anything I can do about it. A few months ago i got hit with that 300$ overage and was pissed off but in the end I had to pay. I think i heard someone tell me if you catch it early you can do something about it sometimes. What is this that I can do.

btw i have Tmobile. and my bill closes on 6/22 (in 1 day)
