Default Bike May Be Down A While

I have a small ass nail that out of all the road my rear tire seemed to find..lol. Well now its in the garage flat as a mofo. I need to get the wheel to the bike shop to get a new tire but I dont have a stand so the bike cant stand without the wheel, I dont have a compressor so I cant plug it for a quick fix to get to the bike shop, and I dont know in the least how to take the rear wheel off to even get to the bike shop, so needless to say I am screwed...

it could be worse. Imagine riding at a decent speed and having the tire go flat on you, then you'd be really screwed

Yeah Bucky is DA MAN!!! It was a small peice of glass that very lightly went into the tire and was a very small leak. Bucky came by and plugged it which I think will be good for a while so I dont have to buy a tire right away.

    THANKS SO MUCH BUCKY!!

call it being over cautious, but I wouldn't trust that plug any longer than it would take for a new tire to arrive. or either have it patched from the inside.

I would not ride a plugged tire. It's not worth the risk. Get a new tire as soon as you can.

i've blown a 190 rear tire out at 60-70mph, not that big of a deal -- kinda like the Firestone Exploders, if you don't try to swerve across 6 lanes of traffic when it happens you'll be ok.

So tell me something, Bucky put the plug in Saturday. The tire has been holding the same air pressure since then, I have ridden it around the sub division a few times and still holds tight. Do you all think its safe to ride or should I keep it parked till I can get a new tire?

With a hole like that it's not going to just blow out, even if somehow the plug came out or fell inside it shouldn't be a drastically instant loss of air. I wouldn't be running 140mph down the road on it but i'd trust it to get around on. Doesn't hurt to carry a plug kit just in case or you can throw a patch on it but i can't imagine trying to get that tire off without the proper tools...i'd like to see someone try though

You can ride on it for a week or two, but be safe. I would just get a new tire as soon as possible.
