Then why does it say "1970 Chevelle" on the bottom left corner?Originally Posted by jew_boy
I know a guy with a green 72 Chevelle with a 572 stroked up to a 600 that lives near me. He just put a cam and some other lite mods in it dynoed it and put down 1080rwhp. I will try to find some pix of it. It is very scary to be next to it when its on lol. It feels like the continent it self is moving.

Anything with a 440 six pack or 426 HEMI.
I know the Chevelle SS wasn't running a 13.4 stock back when it first came out.

ok sorry for the mistake it is a 70 chevelle a first glance i was thinking it was a 72. the 71 and 72 has one front headlight on both sides and are almost exactly alike but the 70 chevelle has 2 front headlights on both sides and on the picture if you just look and not study it, it only seen like it has one lightOriginally Posted by DieselNuts
so my bad
but one thing im goin to stand beside what i said is the 72 chevelle is the king of muscle cars. and if your wondering why i say that is the chevelle had the biggest motor of the muscle car era. which was the 454 BBC

a HO mustang,lol......Originally Posted by GangstaCoupe
They also had the 472. I've seen a 454 Chevelle get eaten on the strip against a 440-6 Cuda. They were both stock resto's.Originally Posted by GangstaCoupe

Chevy>all in muscle era. just look at the vast wealth of aftermarket support for chevy products and that says it all.
as much as a i love sbc,i love AMC and Dodge muscleOriginally Posted by redrumracer
agreed. I'd take just about any mopar muscle over a Chevelle.Originally Posted by Revmaynard

My favorite muscle cars:
1. 1967 427 3x2 carb Corvette
2. 1965 389 tripower GTO
4. 1966 427 Impala SS
All those beautiful AN fittings. Vari nice. Theres one in Tampa thats right around 700HP.

not what the car was built for though, so it doesn't really matterOriginally Posted by slovic-fcc
LOL at this comment. Because its the biggest doesnt mean its the king. Mopar had a 426 that made more power that the 454. Even though the factory rated it 25HP less than the Chevy we all know the cars werent putting out the power the factory claimed. I know we all have our own thoughts on it but I sure most people can agree the Chevelle wasnt the King of muscle cars by any means.Originally Posted by jew_boy
