STOLEN: Built NA Yellow ITR...

Our local Honda dealership had a yellow ITR with a built GSR swap for sale. The motor is completely built and ready for turbo, but the original owner decided to keep it NA. It was making around 230whp on the built NA b18.

Last night someone took it for a test drive. They stopped to get gas and when the salesman went in to pay for it the perp drove off.

The car is yellow, lowered on the stock 16's. It is in near mint condition. It is easily noticeable because of the sound the built b18 makes with the straight through exhaust. It's VERY loud.

The valve cover is red and there is a single autometer a/f gauge inside, if that helps in identifying the car.

Being a Acura guy I drove the car last night. Shifts great, good clutch, pulls like a friggin freight train up top. Definatly pulls harder up top than my i/rh/tbb/2.5/8lb fly/stage 2 clutch/4.77 fd/lsd type s. I would imagine this is a mid 13sec car with a good driver.

They are usually pretty slack, plus the salesman was with him...

Butler Honda in Milledgeville? I am down the road at Earl's Used Cars. I will keep my eyes peeled out this way for it and ask around. I ALWAYS check a license and make sure to look at the name/address before anyone drives, even if I am in the car with them. Good luck.

How quickly were the cops alerted after the guy drove off? I assume it was a station somewhere off 441, probably the Shell right up from you guys, if so it seems odd that a person could get away that quickly especially in a yellow car with as much police presence as there is in Milledgeville. The previous owner traded it in for an S2000...it's probably the same car. Yea, the police were probably far too busy handing out MIP's downtown to have time for real crime...

I have Konig Helium 15" wheels. My car probably seems rev happy b/c it was a B16 with a 10k rpm redline and a itr final drive. It tends to want to rev. Plus with the 2.5" header, and straight through exhaust even going to 4k rpms sounds like it's screaming.

I have a little quieter muffler I am going to have put on soon.

I had a Ford Explorer on my front line right underneath one of the lights by 441 get the transmission, drive shaft, u joints, and front crossmember stolen out of it one night a few months back. Talk about some brave (and good) thieves.

I don't think it was me, it's possible. Right now my car has only been tuned on the low cam and has a major vaccum leak. I have to blip to keep the car running. It is idling at 2k rpms. I have only been to town once in my car, I took it to Theo's muffler shop and back, I went down 441, log cabin, N. Jefferson, over to S. Elbert St.

pputkowski does not work at the dealership so he will have trouble answering any direct questions. He is friends with the people at the dealership that had it for sale and is trying to put the info out there for anybody who sees/hears anything. Anything hearing about any stuff for sale that fits the description give a shout. Hopefully they have the vin number on the block, I don't know if the stock block was built or if it was another engine that was built.

I let it go for that same reason, I hate to see any car get stolen but there are getting to be so few really nice examples of Type R's out there that it's getting ridiculous.

If it has a red AEM CAI and a slight difficulty to put it in R then it is that one. I test drove it so I would know

I hope that R gets recovered quick before it gets stripped !

i'll keep an eye out in case someone comes in looking to get it tuned. i had an appointment to tune it, but brad decided the weekend before to trade it in for an s2k.

if someone can get me the vin on the block i'll keep an eye out.
