Steve, id check riverdale too. theres a shopping center out that way that has a bunch of mechanic shops (my friend has a shop down that way and hes always talking about some shady ass folks down that way.) Its the shopping center before the temple and racetrac on 85.

My other thought, some dumb kids on golf carts drove by. But dang.......nowhere is safe

I think some people just don't realize that thieves can drive to nice parts of town to scope out cars to steal.

I mean if you think about it logically the best place to steal a car would be in the nice parts of town, because the cars are more likely to be clean, modded with more expensive stuff, and are not as highly protected because it's in "the nice part of town."

PTC is a stone's throw from Fayette (which is on the steady decline) and Riverdale (has been in the shitter for some time now.) Jonesboro is also in the shitter, and is also within 20 minutes of PTC.

Not trying to be one of those "look, I live in PTC" snobs, but it is one of the safest cities in the US by numbers and has a police force 5 times any other city of 35K peeps. I cant make it 500 feet with an expired tag around here, and having a beer and hitting the road is very near impossible to get away with. It's just surprising..........

I knew it could get stolen but the three cops I spoke to said that on average 1 car a year gets stolen from the city so it is a rare occurance.
And I know the car is gone from PTC and was about the time i called 911.....

I also meant to include that this is in no way the fault of the owner of the car, and that I hate it that his car was stolen. I'm not one to try and point out what the owner should/could have done.

I'm very familiar with PTC. I played on a soccer club team that had a few PTCers from McIntosh so I was in PTC every weekend, and in the summer many weekdays/nights. I also used to race BMX bikes at the BMX track at the amphitheater. The police there are ever present, but if we're really thinking about it they cannot stop a crime that takes 2-3 minutes and goes virtually unnoticed, such as stealing a Honda.

Having made the short drive down 54 hundreds of times I can say it's not a stretch for criminals looking for nice Hondas to drive over there and steal one.

This just goes to show you that PTC isn't immune to car theft either. I cannot think of any metro/suburban area that I'd call theft free.

damn. cops are always over there to. i just moved from ptc and my neighbors fit sport got the wheels stolen from it about 2 months ago. they came out and it was on bricks.

I honestly think that Steve was being followed and he didn't notice. They weren't driving a vehicle that was noticeable so they waited until after you were fully in the restaurant before they made their hit. That's fucked up that they got you. I only wish mercy on their souls. I have no remorse for thieves.

I wasn't followed. Not the way i was driving. I was driving like a maniac for the last half hour in the rain/wet from warner robins. Trust me If somebody was following I'd have thought they wanted to play.
