Very simple to use I got my XSi about a month or so ago, but yes look up some canon forums I know there are people that will help you out. Also check out DeviantArt.com if you want some constructive criticism and a place to piece together a portfolio

im goin to shoot some christmas trees this weekend. i have this problem though when i shoot at lights though that the light form the bulbs doesnt stay nearly that contained how do you do get it to stay like that?

Last I remember you can control it when you edit the RAW file through Photoshop or Lightroom

Here are the settings that I took...

F4.5
1/6 sec
ISO 400

17-85mm kit lense @ 24mm

Just play around with it some, because it will always vary :)

AMAZING shot dean!!!!!

looks good josh, already shooting in manual mode hell yeah. shot looks great, i like the location but try to shoot the white evo with a dark colored background, itll really make it "pop"

as far as photoshop im sure there are places you can download it for free but i dont know where i had a friend give me my copy(old CS2)

Lol yea its gonna take too long to send them so if you got a card reader on your computer I can bring it by to upload straight to your computer.

Thanks man! Yea i dont really know any good places to shoot a car but so far i took shots on the parking deck of the varsity and by the graffiti at the varsity and thats about it.

Thanks. It was shot in manual. These are two pictures shot on a tripod with only the light from the tree. All lights were turned off in the house. I shot my daughter at f/2 ss 1/50 iso 1600 and the tree at f/14, 4sec SS and iso 400. I merged both images into one. I shot the tree at f/14 to get the starlight effect with each led.
