George is the man to ask about nighttime shots. He has those down. What kind of camera?Originally Posted by HachiDori

Just lately have i started taking night time shots.

what were you shooting on, Tv? Which lens?
AV and TV
on the stock 58mm lens.
oh ok. I am not very well versed in night shots (I leave that to George) but I think if you cranked the ISO up to 400 or even 800 and shot it on Av at like F12 or so with a tripod you would get a lot better shots. There again I am not sure since I hardly ever, ok never, take night shots.Originally Posted by HachiDori

would make it photo worthy. not now though.

Thanks Ga.
Ill experiment this week end.
Well honestly the higher the ISO the grainier the shot is going to be. If you shot it at ISO100 im not sure what happened to the pictures. Did you resize them in a program? If so what program and how did you save the picture? It seems like when it saved there was some dithering of the image.
The xt's can handle up to 400 and sometimes 800 before they get grainy. Just FYI. ~leaves so George can teach class again~Originally Posted by Nemesis
I resized a few on photoshop, saved the as jpg.
Photoshop wouldn't have done that unless you played with them (sharpening, contrast, etc) and then saved it in low resolution.Originally Posted by HachiDori

If you used save for web, you pull out a lot of color and details that sometimes isnt noticeable. But depending on what settings were used when saving that way, that could be your answer as to why they are grainy.
Thanks bro.
I'll keep that in mind.
BTW: what camera do you use?
Yeah I never "save for the web". I guess that is why some forums hate when I post pics up
George shoots with a D50 and so does Brady and Walker (Deutchbag).
How should i save it and what format to get the best results?
Just your usual Save As function and then slide the bar to the right hand portion of the quality indicator.
Alright thanks bro.
Bump so
Aaron can find the thread.
