Default First Crack at CS4 (You may laugh)

I am an utterly and complete Noob at CS4. Here are a couple of edits I have done out of boredom and trying to learn the program.

What are some useful tips and good places to learn how to utilize the program?

(919): so I was just driving high and I stopped to let a pinecone cross the road because I thought it was a hedgehog.

looks good... you opened the program and figured out how to play with some layers and save your images for the web... better than most. I like #3 for pulling off the toy car look.

looks like you used a blur filter to imitate the effect of using a big aperture to throwing the bg out of focus lol....sometimes less is more=my 2 cents

too much fake blur for me but like A.A said, better than some. the best thing i can tell you about any photoshop program. go to barns and noble or any major book store, or hell ebay and get scott kelbys book on CS4 and its step by step to anything you want to know.

Very nice for your first time. I tried photoshop back in 2003 and had absolutely no idea what I was doing at all. LoL so you're doing an awesome job.

My best piece of advice is to browse CS4 tutorial sites that walk you through step by step. It helped me find out the best what layers or effects would make images the way I wanted them to come out. At first I made things from scratch which included abstract art. Now I find it a very helpful tool for photography

Best of luck and keep up the good work

the pictures were crisp to begin with, and it seems too much fake blur. for someone that doesnt know what your doing, your doing excellent. kudos and practice practice practice.
