    Default Image Editor of choice...

    What is everyones favorite image editor. Right now im using Ulead PhotoImpact X3..Does anyone else use that? what else do you guys use? Im a bigginer and I just got my Canon XSi today, so any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

    I mean its a dumb question. Photoshop is the industry standard. If you don't have it, you are wasting your time.

    Actually, I heard that GIMP was better, and free. But I want a variety of opinions.

    well if by better you mean free, then yes, its better. And if its "better" then why are you using some crap program then?

    its not really better though.

    just get photoshop. simple enough.

    ive tried gimp. its set up wierd as hell. hated it so i deleted that shit.

    Lightroom2 is a pretty good alternative to Photoshop.

    It all depends on what you're doing. If you are taking photos, maybe 10-20 at a time in jpg format, then GIMP will suit your purposes nicely (and its free!).

    If you are shooting in RAW, tweaking your exposures and doing a lot of post work then you'll want photoshop (especially for its automated features)
