What does the EOS utility even do? I have the CD that came with my camera but never bothered to install it

What camera?Originally Posted by james
it was a 5dmkII, but the eos utility will work with any canon dslr i think.Originally Posted by speedminded

If my laptop battery lasted more than 15 minutes (2 1/2 years old) i'd use it on site with the utility lol!Originally Posted by james
FU for having a 5Dmkii.![]()

Time elapse? You mean a pic every few seconds or minutes automatically?!!Originally Posted by james
yeah. as many as you want stored wherever you wantOriginally Posted by speedminded
My god, looking at it now. Well hell where have you been the last 3 years of my life lolol! I have a new toy now thanks!Originally Posted by james
yeah its slick. i think there is a newer version of it on canon's website than the one you have pictured there. there should be a "bulb shooting" option right on the bottom of that dialog box.
What lenses do you have with the 5dmkii?Originally Posted by james
it came with the 24-105L and i have a 50 1.8 from my xti days. all the other lenses are incompatible EF-S lenses. I want to get some other lenses. I would like something wider than 24, and I would like something longer than 105, but just having dropped 3500 on this a couple weeks ago, that won't happen any time soon. A friend let me tool around with his 85 1.2 the other day - wow. that thing is a tank. Also, another great thing is not having to figure the lens crop factor...the focal length is the focal length, no more of this x1.6 rubbish.Originally Posted by speedminded
you need any lenses/ battery grip for your xti?![]()
I have 75k shots on my XTI. The shutter button no longer focuses, it only releases the shutter so I have to use the grip button to focus. I do find myself shooting more portrait shots now because of that lol! I need to do the custom setup/hack on it so I can use the thumb button as the focus like the 5d's have.Originally Posted by james
What I need is a H1 hummer to drive over this thing then take a picture of it. I think it's time to take off the training wheel and step up the game because the shots I'm doing now are way too much of a struggle for mediocre results.
I can only imagine what the 85mm f/1.2 is like! Ideally all I want is a 24-70 f/2.8L and maybe the 35mm f/1.4 with a 5DMkii. I'll sell my 300mm f/4.0L to get it if I have to.
Have you shot video with it yet? The HD video with a 50mm f/1.8 HD is incredible...DOF!
yeah i've done a few little video things, nothing too extensive. Like home movie type shit. I think if i really set it up on a tripod and took the time to make it look good, then it would be worth my while, but the thing is is that the video eats up CF cards really damn fast. like for example - 15 seconds of video is 80mb. also, raw files are huge. at ISO 25600 the file is like 40mb. not saying you should ever shoot iso that high, but the files do add up ---QUICK!
Cool trails!
That is awesome looking dude* Post more when you feel like it lol
