    Default Show your gear

Hey i was about to totally hijack dinanm3's thread, but i decided this would be more appropriate...i am getting ready for my trip to panama, and i am trying to get all this camera shit organized, and his thread kinda made that happen.....

    so....show your gear!

I also have a bogen 190xdb tripod that santa brought me. Somehow thats going to need to strap onto this bag. hopefully the TSA doesn't give me shit.

With security just put the bag up there. Don't make a big scene about it. Take out your laptop(mine has one in there) and put that where it belongs. Put the bag through the scanner. If they say something let them know you are a photographer and if they need to see or scan anything further tell the that will not be any problem. I have even been asked to turn on a camera, I said I would have no problem taking a picture as well if need be.

Should be no problemo! I will through my pic up here

To make up for no pic, this is what I got for Xmas though and was really surprised!

    28-300L?

Didn't even know that existed... Pics!

Sigma 10-20 is an excellent lens. I am going to go with the Tokina 11-16 myself due to built quality and constant f/2.8 Ohhhhh the Bokeh!

Ok here is some shots from a while ago. The lens pic is the current line up I have (Canon 16-35 F2.8L, 24-70 F2.8L, 70-200 F2.8L IS, 50 F1.8, 28-135 IS, 18-55 Kit, Tamron 28-75 F2.8, Sigma 70-300). The gear shot is before I added 3 more AB's and 3 Novatrons, Vegabond battery pack for lights, more stands, softboxes, umbrellas, beauty dish, barn doors, gels, remote triggers, new background stand, wardrobe for the models, reflectors, props, tons of batterys, light meter, Angle finder C, 580 EX w/diffuser, Off camera cord for flash, tons of CF cards, and a bunch of other odds and ends. What I do not have a photo of is the bodies which are Canon 5D with grip, 30D with grip, and a 350D with grip (350D donated to my mom).

*note: One of the tripods and the metal case in the gear shot belongs to Speedminded.

lol my collection is one day old and quite weak. Nikon D40 body, 18-55 kit lens, 55-200 nikkor (non-VF ), 4GB high speed SD.

50mm 1.8 coming before the new year as a gift to myself, methinks. Debating on what to add after that. Probably an SB-600 and tripod, THEN some more glass. Just need to get the basics down first.

Here are better pics of everything out of their boxes + camera. Taken with my point and shoot.

    Canon 40D + Shutter remote
    Canon 28-300L
    Canon 50mm,
    Canon 17-80
    Sigma 17-70
    Sigma 10-20

Don't worry, covers were taken off and replaced as soon as I was done taking pics.

Haven't used anything but the 10-20 so far. I noticed the same thing that hardly anyone had the 28-300L, went to WolfCamera and they knew of it but that was it.

Wanted something versatile, and the 28-300 was the first thing that caught my eye.

Will add pics later if anyone wants of what each lense does in terms of range compared to the kit lense.

Jess Alba, just so you know more about your 28-300. http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...ns-Review.aspx

Ok I'll try and get pics later, for now I'll list gear.
    EOS Series:
    Canon 20D
Canon EF 50 1:1.8 (not the EF 50 1:1.8 II everyone has here, this is the good one from 1987 with a metal mount and a distance scale window)
    Canon EF 28-70 1:3.5-4.5
    Canon EF 70-200 1:4 L
Canon 20D wired remote shutter release.
SanDisk Ultra II 2GB CF card
SanDisk Extreme III 4GB CF card

    Canon FD mount series:
    Canon AE-1
    Canon FD 28 1:2.8
    Canon FD 50 1:1.8
    Sears FD 135 1:3.5
    Vivitar Series 1 FD 70-210 1:2.8-4.0
    Tokina SZ-X SD FD 28-105 1:4.5-5.3

    Miscellaneous:
    SEARS flash
    Canon 52mm Circular polarizer filter
    Kenko 52mm Circular polarizer filter
    Tiffen 67mm UV filter
    2 Sunpak 52mm UV filters
Opteka 70 inch tripod (this things sucks, it's getting replaced)
    2 Hoya 62mm Skylight filters
    Photoshop CS3
    Photomatix

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

maybe I'm just a little oldschool, but here it goes:

original Nikon FE w/ MD-12 motordrive

    from L to R (Nikkor 50mm f1.4; Nikkor 85mm f2; Nikkor 135mm F3.5; Nikkor 200mm F4)

An old Sunpak Auto 522 Thyristor; P.R.O. and Tiffen filters; Kodak Gold 35mm color print film; and an old remote shutter release.

All neatly fit into a Domke Khaki bag.
