    Default MY LITTLE SISTERS WEDDING.....

My little sister Michele and Laylas(my cute niece) dad got married about a week ago. they were on a limited budget for the wedding and didnt want to pay 1500+ for a wedding photographer so they asked me to shoot the wedding. I now see why wedding photographers charge so much, i was looking through my lens for about 8 hours, ending up with over 1300 images and MANY MANY hours in post processing.

tools i used for this stressful task...

    my D50 with nikkor 50mm 1.8 or Sigma 10-20mm
    a borrowed D40 with 70-300mm VR
Nikon SB-600 flash(big thanks to kustombuildz for letting me borrow that)
Manfrotto 055x pro legs and compact ballhead
    (2) 1 GB cards and (1) 4 GB card

so many people told me not to do this, as i have only been shooting for about a year and only have a entry level SLR(which was a challenge due to having to shoot at high ISO in low light, noise was a bitch) but i couldnt tell them no, cause well, they needed me.

here are some of my favorites from the wedding day. all comments are welcome(keep it respectful thnx)

your lighting looks off in 23, but otherwise looks good. i like the vignette in the first few.

its safe to say you shot in jpeg right?

They look great! The only thing that was off to me is you can't see her eyes in picture 8. Just hollow black circles.....lol

8 is a bad picture regardless. wide angles for portraits are a big no no and i wouldnt normally do that but its my lil sis and at 10mm people look really funny so in order to make her go "WTF chad?" i broke the rule

Nice shots... I got my first dose of wedding photography recently as well.. didn't put near as much time into post-processing as you did, but I definitely will think twice before nonchalantly saying "sure I can do it" lol.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

Wow good job. I hope I can get to your level someday. I like taking photos, but I could use some pointers from you.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

Nice pics again Chad! I have done several weddings and will agree its tough. I did my sister's wedding in June and it wasnt bad, but others I have done were much more difficult.

It is fun to capture the memories and the moment for people and have them loko back on your interpretation on their special day.

yeah its not like shooting cars or just your everyday portrait photography. not having control over the lighting makes it really difficult.

thanks! i would think people that arent your family would be much tougher on you too. i might get into the whole wedding photography thing more just to help pay for some equipment ive been eyeballing but i dont expect it to be easy.

shot you a PM back on automotive photographer network by the way

i said she married laylas dad, i said layla is my niece. i dont see how her getting married her daughters father makes that her uncle. thanks for contributing nothing to this thread by not posting about the wedding or the photos. maybe some negative reps will keep you from posting bullshit in my next thread, if not, oh well you still got about -6 anyways, enjoy them.

its ok reps dont mean anything in the real world

well if i just said "cody, her boyfriend of 4 years" it wouldnt explain the adorable little girl in the photos. i thought it clarified things, i guess not.
