for those who don't know cumberland island, ga is one of the last of the unmolested pieces of land on the east coast. there are no roads to get there just ferrys and limited number of people each day can go there. only 15 residents live on the 18 mile stretch of land. it has a few old plantation homes from the 1890s-1900s... also one of the only places wild horses run free

man i was just over there 2 months ago and got a lot of the same shots. I try to get out there at least once every couple of years. It is most certainly one of the most beautiful places in the Southeast. Pics look great!

I absoultely love Cumberland Island. One of my favorite places and actually my Daughter is camping there since Thursday till today on the Island. The ruins are incredible and the horses and the scenery is beautiful. We have a picture somewhere of two of the horses reared up on the hin legs both towards each other. Great picture. They also say there is a Albino Deer on the island, if it hasn't passed yet.

you can camp - but all the campers we saw weren't happy

Greyfield Inn is the only place you can stay but it is very very expensive. Unless you got significant bank roll start saving... 2 nights will easily run you 1200-1700$

honestly though the place is a photographers wet dream. if you went just to take photos you could keep yourself busy for days.

So I guess ya'll stayed at the Greyfield? Cumberland is a stone's throw from Amelia Island, Florida, and we used to catch big redfish and cobia off the coast of Cumberland. Did ya'll see a submarine come in while you where there?
