Need help deciding camera... 400d vs 30d

Ok guys and gals, I need my photo gurus on this one. I am just getting into photography like seriously for the past 6mo or so. I acquired a Canon Rebel Xti (400d) and I like it alot compared to the other digital cameras I have had...

I just came across another deal on a Canon EOS 30D Brand new. I haven't read much on this and it looks harder to control. Which camera, in your opinion is the better one??

i would hang on to the body you have until you build up a decent lens collection and really learn all of the functions of your camera unless you want a second body. the 30d is a semi-pro camera and while it shares a lot of the same features of the 400d, its layout is supposed to be such that it is easier to access a lot of those key features. but, there again, to me, it seems more logical to stick with what you have until you understand all of your settings and are able to set up your camera for your shot quickly.

as time goes by and technology progresses, you're always going to be able to find a deal on any camera you're looking at now.

thank you... at least someone answered. I do have a couple of good lenses, mainly zoom lenses.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm
Canon Ultrasonic 24-85mm
and the kit lens EF-s 18-55mm

I think I like the way the 30d handles and feels when I am shooting. I already bought it because the deal was just TOOO good to pass. So really I was trying to decide which one to sell... LOL

Thanks again for replying. I have been on POTN and it does seem like they are on the same playing field with the 30d having just a few different features.

MY 20D is EASIER to control than my XT was. I mean, anyhting has a learning curve but I love my 20D WAAAAAAY more than I did my XT (feels better in my hand, shoots faster, and has a better layout)

(oh by the way the Xt is practically the XTi and the 20D is practically a 30D)

the 400D autofocus system is the same as the 30D, but not the 20D. it doesnt have the cross AF points.

but IQ wise from all these cameras, it will be hard to tell a diff.

good choice on the 30D is the better choice built much better than the rebel line.
