    Nice Little Ecosystem in there.

My friend has had his turtles since he was young. I saw them yesterday for the second time at his pool party; still kicking and likely to outlive most humans.

Yea the lil ones are cool as hell. My aunt has one, but some places I believe its ilegal to buy the small ones. And Julio Lil man could be called a snaping turtle, he bites all the time.

70 gallon tank...you could have like a million of them for about 3 months before they start growing...then just take a few out each week till you have 2 again...

Nice, I remember I had a turtle my dad found crossing the road one day then we took it back out and let it go after a few days haha.

BTW, on the Diablo and R34 on the wall.

I have a 120 G tank w/ 2 yellow bellied sliders in it. They got big quick and MEAN>We are thinkin about givin them away. Mine are Max and Erma. Max is 5"-6" round, Erma is 7-8" around. They are 3 yrs old, they live to like 50 or so. Turtles are a messy animal even in a water environmant.

Well, Turtles are hard and DIRTY. I dont know your exact set up, so heres a brief basic what you need...
They need alot of heat, like 82+ degree water (85 is better, use a high wattage heater stick) and heat lamp over a basking area. The prob is heat lamps will grow algae QUICKLY. (Yellow light+Heat= Algae). Keep the tank away from natural light, also. Be sure to put the lights on a timer, they need sleep too. To help w/ the water (and all the poop turtle do) plants will reduce nitrate levels, but the turtles will eat them. In our set up, we have a pond filter (12"x12"), and pump, that blows the clean water through the plants...they are bricked away from the turtles. Kinda in a brick cubicle that still allows water in and out. This is also thier basking area above the plants...I'll try to find a pic.
Also, thier diet can be wierd sometimes too. Ours eat carrots (shredded) and lettuce, as well as generic turtle food, and turtle "treats".

I have pretty much all of that. They have two places to bask on and I have a whole filter pump to keep the water clean. Its like there own waterfall. lol I feed Mopar tons of carrots he loves them. And its so cute they know when its bed time. They also have a bridge to climb up and play on and I also feed them fish. They love them. I bought a water heater but its too small so I am going back tomorrow to get a different one. Thanks for the advice.
