    Default Camera questions

My step mom ripped out this old school nikon i mean i don't even know how old it is... seriously... but it's a 35mm i believe and has like 3 different lenses... (i'm not sure what the lenses are either) and some filters as well..

anyways, yeah i know i need to get the stats for it, and i will this weekend...

but what kinda quality do you think the older nikons are capable of??? i would say in it's day this was a top notch camera.

i'm still debating on whether to buy a 40 or not... so in the meantime i thought i may break this thing out and use it to see what it could do.... but i wasn't sure if it was even worth my time.... anyways, i'll get model numbers and what lenses they are asap...

    thanks!

Nikon's are the top of the line amateur/intermediate cameras. The older ones have the quality that modern SLR's still have. They are great cameras and very impressive.

I still use my old range finder fixed lens Nikon and it is from the early 70's.

I havent bought into this whole digital fad.

    Hmmmm. Fad?

fad n. A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze.

I'm not really sure but I think this will be the biggest and longest "fad" ever. I wouldn't call the digital world a fad. Later, QD.

Ok, well it's a NIKON... and it just says FG on it... i'm guessing that's the model... the thing is, i think there is a spring or something broken because the mirror inside is flipped up so no light is really getting through... rush looked at it last night.. and that's what he said. so... anyone know anything?

    it has three lenses...

    1. wolfpro mc auto macro 1:2.8 28mm 52(zero with slash through it)
    2. nikon nikkor 50mm 1:1.4
    3. (this one is huge) zykkor mc auto zoom macro 1:4.5 f=80-205mm (zero w /)52

oh and it has a "pro multi-coated auto tele converter 2x for nikon-al"

anyone got any ideas on prices for these lenses/camera....

my step mom is selling it all to me for 40$ but that's because i think she broke the camera and that's why the mirror is weird... so i think she was trying to screw me... BUT i figure i could easily make that money plus more off the lenses alone if the mirror is too expensive to fix.
