Might be some helpful info for you on CGTalk.com I love that site, i would search the 2d Photoshop specific sub-forum. Its a place to start, and im sure you will find plenttyy of other stuff cooler than some filters.
ps. I use a custom set of brushes I got from a great artist over there, not sure if ur interested in that?
