As far as losing weight goes I'd do more aerobic activity and do something you enjoy, it'll be easier to be consistent. The things I like to do:

Bike Riding
Basketball
Jump Rope <-=-=- Really good workout

If you plan to run do sprints instead of jogging, jogging is okay but you will burn fat faster by doing sprints. Swimming is a good workout as well but for me personally swimming only increases my appetite and ends up being counter productive. Also if you do weights dont do heavy lifting unless you want to gain muscle but not lose a good amount of weight. Most importantly stick to a good diet but I think you know that, everything I've stated here comes from my experience since I went from 180lbs to 225lbs in a short amount of time earlier this year. What side of town do you live on?
