    Default malware?

Well... I was looking at some porn when all of the sudden the window closed on it's own. I have virus scan and firewall/internet security programs but neither of them seem to be detecting anything wrong. I am getting a warning that an entity or two is trying to communicate with other programs.

there is one file called mmxsnet... which is an application. (i try to delete and i get a "is in use" message)

That is the one that i keep getting security cautions about when the explorer windows decide to close on their own.

After i get that warning i get a warning for another file called "pre" which my virus scan picked up at one point and quarenteened. Said that the program was design to delete shit off my computer. Since then i havent got another warning about it, but it seems to be dependent on the mmxsnet file.

I tried using both eiwdo and some other prevx1 program that i found recommended while doing a google search. I scanned the folder as well as the files directly and neither programs picked anything up. Both of them are located in a "temp" folder.

I have a couple of scans currently running and will use the programs recommended in the sticky and btlfeds thread but i just wanted to see if anyone has ever dealt with this or something like it and how they got rid of it.

You may want to run it a few times. If it doesn't fix everything the first few times boot your computer in safe mode (press F8 while it's booting and select safe mode with no network) then run it until it doesn't find anything else...

Download Ewido Anti-Malware and run it in safe mode. Should clear out any problems you have.
