Default Anyone know how to Publish a Printer in Windows Active Directory

I need to find out if the printer is on another server, can it be published from the domain controller running Windows server 2003 or does the printer have to be locally installed on that Domain controllerr?

I tried doing this already with printers on different servers, and putting in the path in AD on the domain controller, but it would not accept the path.

    Any ideas?

I have the printers already setup and listed in the directory option checked.

I might be able to help you, walk me thru how you set everything up. You did it for the most part correctly, but it seems like you missed something that's stopping the printer from coming up in AD.

    Questions
-Did you setup the printer w/ a static IP
    - etc. etc. etc....

PM me so I can help ya out.

Why not just go and add it to the Primary Domain Controller? Then you shouldn't have the problem. Or am I reading something wrong?

They have statics IP;s and using nic cards that came with the printers, they are all not HP printers either. so not all Jet direct cards.
