So I want to set up a webcam for myself so I can monitor my baby at work. My wife will be home, but I just thought it would be cool if I could take a peek at him while he's sleeping during the day, etc. I'm sure its not difficult, but wanted to see if anyone else has set up a webcam to run all day.

There is a way to do it, but it would involve lots of networking stuf...The easiest way would prolly to set up a VPN and a remote desktop...

why don't you just use a simple tool like messenger to view him that is the easiest set up. go buy a webcam set it up to a machine w/ a connection and your done.

pcany, netop, or gotomypc are all option of taking control of a machine at home; obviously then all you need a cam hooked up in the room/rooms of choice.

if you want to get really creative why not just get a few nanny cams setup up your own webserver and type in domain for instant nanny cam
