Currently I have the following setup.
Two desktops
1: SONY VAIO P4 SYSTEM
2: CUSTOM BUILT AMD X2 SYSTEM
Both running above 2.5GHZ.
PC number 2 acts as a makeshift server for now, since it soon will have approx. 1 Terabyte of hard drive space after I install more drives. Now both computers are wirelessly connected to the internet via a Netgear 108MBS router. Now my question is, I currently have PC number 2's hard drives accessable by PC number 1 via the desktop, however they are connected wirelessly. Therefore, transfer rates are pretty slow. Now, I bought a 10/100 switch today in hopes to connect them this way. Both have NIC cards that have standard CAT5 cables running into the switch, but the computers are having a tough time connecting in any way.
Below is a screen shot of what PC number shows.
And here is the switch that is automatically configured to work which show green lights on all ports that are connected.
Please give me some help, so that I can transfer files across the switch at a higher rate, rather than wirelessly.
