Treo 600 help PLEASE (Verizon)

so ive got a CDMA teo 600

software: Treo600-1.03-VZW

bought it off ebay. 140 for the phone guy has 99.7% Feedback and only 2 neg in the past 12 months.

so heres the problems.... I do not have it set to my phone number, but when i try to go into wireless mode it wigs out and either resets or freezes or does some other stupid thing like that

also, when i took it to a Verizon agent store she attached the ESn to my number and it kept saying no service. wouldnt make or recieve calls.... just like it wasnt attached to my number.

I also know you gotta activate the Treo, dial *228 or something like that, would the fact she ddnt do that have anything to do with all this? or should my phone even be wigging out when not attached to a number and IN wireless mode

Were thinking it maybe has water dmg? anyone know how to check on these? normaly the strip beneath the battery turns pink or something... but i think i have to take the case apart to do so

*228 option 1 is what is used to activate the phone once the esn is changed. Take it to a verizon full retail store not an agent.
