Ok since we kind of rained on George's 300 thread I started this one so we can talk about camera's and gear.

So which one are you getting? I thought you were going with the one you have the lenses for (can't remember the name)?

Not sure, I have a 350D now so the lower end point and shoots I am not that familiar with. Last I heard tho they were phasing out the A60 since coming out with better models. Not sure but higher megapixels are becoming more affordable now compared to what they used to be.

I currently have a Canon A620. It seems to be a good little camera. Takes very good pictures. I have been a fan of Canon digital cameras.

    First set of five;
The pic of the Evo was taken with a nicer Sony camera, and the rest were taken with my old '02 Cybershot 5.0 megapixel, any pictures you see of the Sentra were taken when I was about 16 so they're a little older and the photoshopping is a little more crude.

Hopefully I'll throw on some 350D pics of the benz on there soon after Xmas

The coolpix cameras do look pretty consistent across the board though. We went from a 4600, 5400, 8700(?) and they were all excellent pics. Deffinately pleased with the last pic the 4600 produced there in vegas (or wherever that was). Yea I'm a night pic whore!

Depends on which picture you are talking about. That shoot was when I had the 8700 and Jaime shot with us on the second day with the 350D with the 70-200mm f2.8L lens. If you can refer me to the pic I can tell you which camera it was.

Yeah there is a big difference between the two pics. You can def. tell which one was the SLR and which one was the 8700. Of course Jaime was shooting with a $1800 lens so his pics better put mine to shame. lol. I am not taking anything away from the 8700/8800 but they can only carry you so far, then you have to step up to a SLR with some nice glass.

Jaime, I need you to upload as many pics of the shoot you did with Patrajyca as you can to the site. I am working on doing and individual modle page for her and I need as many pics as you have to make a nice collection.

What do you mean by "noisey"? I've heard the term before, but always thought it had more to do with exposure. Am I wrong?

Very nice setup. You're a lot like me by the sound of your equipment. I have extra everything. I'm anal about running out of power or not having something. I just picked me up a sweet tripod. It's a bit bulky to carry all day, but for regular photoshoots it's great. I'm going to be looking for a couple of smaller lenses after Christmas.

Your ISO causes noise. Usually anything above 800 is real bad but depending on the shooting conditions even a 400 can be noisey.

Yeah Danny has a nice set up but I think he is racist against us Canon people

What do you mean, I invite you on shoots. Atlanta was just a spur of the moment that you would not have enjoyed anyway. We froze our butts off that night. Now I am going to get with you about doing some other shoots but as of right now I am still planning them out.

    I usually shoot @ 200 outside, 400 at most.

I think the "noise" is coming from post-processing non-prowess.....

I still don't know what to look for, but someone I'm sure will point it out to me.

I'm ready to go shoot now. I'm starting to get out of my funk. I just need one or two shoots to really help all the way with that. Let me know when you're ready.

Clearly I have a long way to go haha! I'm guessing Jaime is using the 350D(with the $1.5k lens)? Deffinately the shots I want, that's all I know!

Jaime, you might try using a program called Noise Ninja as part of your post-processing. There are lots of utilities out there that can take care of the job, but that is just the one that I'm familiar with. I would post some of my pictures from my Canon S1 IS, but I won't be back at my apartment until Monday night.
What if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.
