If she bought it after 3/1, yes. Her taxes are rolled into what she paid. She'll go down to the DMV on her birthday and renew her tags for $20.

This is why owning SC property is great , register new cars there and tax on a new car is $300 for a Kia or a Bentley... or that is how it was in 2009.

So she will go to the DMV on April 8th, pay $20 for the sticker + whatever the actual plate costs (unless they rolled that into the cost of the car, in which case, they'll mail a receipt, and you go pick it up). Next year on her birthday, she'll go to the DMV and pay $20 for just the sticker.

I paid for my tags separate cause I didn't want them to send me that fruitcake ass license plate.

Op, I'd suggest you keep your license and vehicles registered to your home state for another year or so..,

I walked in, renewed my current cars, registered a new car, paid $100 or so for both, they asked what plate I wanted, handed it to me, done.

Cause it probably comes pre-printed on the dealership paperwork and the carbon copy forms you have to sign. It still is technically sales tax

I am for one of my cars...I had to do the other one however due to the emissions/reg being up on it...So it was either that or run it w/an expired reg...

Being pulled over and then having our car towed.... = more expense in the end so I bit the bullet...

Yeah. When I bought the car, they were gonna roll it all in and just send me the tag and sticker in the mail. That was right after they rolled out those country calendar ass license plates. I didnt want to take a chance on them sending that shit. Lol.
