no problems with macs, but if you switch its gonna be a big switch fi you havent used them both on a daily basis.

i would say only switch if you are doing GRAPHIC DESIGN - PRINT MEDIA - PRINT ADVERTISING - FILM/MUSIC - OR ANYTHING ELSE as far as school goes... for the everyday user i would say just stay w/ Win its cheaper and it has everything you need, i currently have both but Win is by far the top OS b/c of availability, you can get anything you need and want for it.
Plus if you are switching over to mac i would wait b/c mac is having to design an OS to run on intel chips b/c IBM is no longer supplying them chips anymore, so you will see a mac running on PC platform very soon.
Im loving my mac!! I have it to do graphic design with it...I also have 4 PCs to use....
aprcia. the help yall i not sure what i am doning yet though

I've been using apple for almost 10 years now and I'm pretty happy with it. I'd recommend and iMac, but they have a bad habit of becoming obsolete after 3 or 4 years (I've got a 800mhz iMac G4) because you can't upgrade them like you can a pc or power macs.
I switch between Pc's and Apple pretty regularly and I just like the Apple OS more. I also like not having to worry about getting viruses over AIM or other programs.
As far as I know the powerbooks are great computers (we have two). When you look at buying an Apple you'll probably notice that their processors aren't rated as high as PCs usually are, but don't let it scare you. The computers run differently and Apple's are usually as fast as PC's with a higher rated processor speed.
I think Intel is going to start producing their processors soon, so Apple's new computers should be even faster than they are now.
I use my mom's G4 and my AMD64/nVidia machine everyday. I like the WinXP on my computer because I can get online, play games download things, get into stuff that I can't do on the mac. It is susceptible to viruses and spyware though.
The mac is very stable and good with still and dynamic graphics and video. If you're into graphics look into a mac but PC's flexibility is what attracted me.
