According to this commercial I saw last night the best brand is Husqvarna-Viking... http://www.husqvarnaviking.com No clue how much they cost, nor no clue about sewing... just heard they are a good brand lmao.

singer and brother are good brands, look for one with LOTSA stitches, usually the ones with more stitches are better than the ones with like 4 - 5 stitches. i have one w 60 stitches, its a pretty good 1. (yea i know i know, gradma stuff right there!) lmao

SINGER all the way.... thats the only thing my mom has "had to do" her entire life and SINGER is the only way to do. They also have a sewing machine from singer that doubles as an embroidery machine and it kicksass too.

I would suggest maybe stopping by Joanns, and checking them out.. My mother is an avid sewer and she gets all her machines there.. mind you they can be very costly...
