    Default Volume Contorl

I need help. I have IBM Thinkpad 600 and its running windows XP. It has a volume control in the control panel. I have the volume all the way to the top. But it still won't play sound. It says its sound drive is Crystal WDM Audio Ayone know I can have the laptop play sound. Because I don't want to have to get up and go to my desktop everytime I wanna listen to something.
