A .22, will be cheap, but for a carry and target gun the smallest I'd get would be a 9mm (ammo is still cheap).

    Between the 2 you have I say a .22

Wrong, a .22 will not exit and will bounce off bones and around inside the body, causing more damage. A well placed shot is less likely to kill a person.

Check these out, small frame gun and 9mm.

If those are priced to high check these .380 out

You get what you pay for, they are VERY cheap.

Just IMO I wouldn't trust one as a carry gun, maybe a fun target gun, but that's about it.

You should ask a mod to move this to the outdoor section for some good info

If you have the money to spend.....

Springfield and Glock are great guns with moderate price tags

Then you get into stuff like Kimber and other high end stuff. All depends on how much you wanna spend, just like a car.

Get a Taurus. Im a big fan now. .22 for target shooting, but nothing less than a .38spl or .40 for carry. I have shot a hipoint .380 though and really liked it. Good fit and finish and had no hiccups or anything in over 100 rounds I put through it. So it was definitely worth the 100 my buddy paid for it imho.

No, this gun is a huge piece of shit. My friend bought one and I bought a Beretta storm .40 cal. My gun is much more accurate and a way better gun. The sigma is garbage.

Also, don't buy a Walther p22 unless you have midget hands. My little finger was half way off the grip. If you want something for plinking, get a Beretta u22 neos, or a Browning .22, but the walther is just mainly looks.

Thats exactly right. Instead of the perp stopping his attack, you and your loved ones get raped and killed.

anything smaller than 9mm is for a backup gun or target shooting. and anything below .38x doesn't belong in a self defense situation. Handguns are incredibly weak to begin with, and choosing the weakest of the weak is asking for serious trouble.

Oh really? I'll say that he's wrong. I'll vouch for the sigma being a good gun. They are very reliable. They are pretty difficult to group well with straight out of the box with that nearly 15lb. trigger pull. I put over 1000 rounds through one of the SW40VE's that I had, and only had maybe 2 issues out of it the whole time, and I am pretty sure that was Ammo related. You will be surprised at how much better you will shoot with them when you lighten up that trigger pull. I personally hate striker guns, but if I was broke and needed something to rely on, for the price, I'd carry a sigma. Nothing is wrong with your gun, so don't plan on getting rid of it, unless you are just wanting to upgrade to something with a hammer. LOL. Btw, did you get yours new or used, because if used, it may have already had the mods done to it?

They are like 325 new. That's ridiculously cheap. I shoot fruit and can with it but for defense its kind of terrible.

That's what I was trying to say....if you only want ONE gun and it is for both target and carry, a 9mm is be the cheapest target gun (ammo wise) that I would carry. If you want something for your house, I say a .40 or .45. You can target shoot with those also, but ammo is a higher.

.40 is pretty easy on the wallet for target practice. Federal ammo is 15 bucks per 50 rounds. Now you also want to shoot the rounds youre going to be using for home defense so you get an idea of the differences in the ballistics.

I'm just saying you could have gotten a better gun. I've fired it enough to know I didn't like it. But I also didn't like how it felt, which is a big thing with hand guns. It has to feel right, and it felt cheap and blocky in my hands. But also people have different hands. The biggest problem I had was the single action semi auto, and the lack of a safety.

For the money I would have bought a Taurus of some type. I wouldn't say I'm wrong, there are just simply better guns out there and the Sigma isn't good for me would be a better way to put it. If you like it thats all that matters.

Definately not a single action gun... And the built in safety is on the trigger. And as far as I am concerned the only safety a gun needs! haha.. j/k

.22 best for target, if your looking for carry dont go below 9mm but personally Id rather carry a .40 or .45

Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

Its single action is... that it is double action only lol, unlike guns with a hammer which have single/double action triggers which I like a lot better becuase trugger pull is much lighter most of the time. The lacking of a safety is just strange to me.

I still dont understand what you said.

There is no such thing as calling a double action a single only action. Its one or the other or both.

    Anywho..

BUY A 1911 AND GET IT OVER WITH!
