Default New TOYS - 2010 should be fun!!

Well I posted up a Merry Xmas thread. I hope everyone got what they wanted.

My benelli was a certified pre owned / rebuilt model. The gunbroker ad from where i bought it said new. Regardless its back in the mail and my refund was issued.

I went and looked at the 6.8spc ar that i bought off of gunbroker as well and it was a dud. First off the upper was not what they said it was. I suppose that if i didnt recognize the craftsmanship of some companies uppers i wouldnt of caught it but regardless I was pissed. And then someone had taken a dremel tool and literally modified the feed ramps on the upper so deep that it had gotten into the face of the barrel. It was HORRIBLE. The guy didnt want to make a deal on another AR10 they had there so I left with no gun. Anywho..

I am on the hunt for a nice 1911 project to start building and I also am on the hunt for another toy that will remain on the low for now. On a side note I have been replinishing and reordering all kinds of gear and appearal that has been long overdue.

I switched over to surefire flashlights a while back. I have a G2 personal that I use everyday because its lightweight and i switched out the 60 lumen bulb for a 120 lumen bulb. I get the cr123 batteries from work for free so that isnt the issue. The issue is the bulbs and the beam. The beam was never focused enough for me. It worked great out to about 50-75 feet but after that it left me wanting more. I have been looking into a good quality rechargeable led for some time. Today I picked up a streamlight strion led rechargeable. Its a great light, fits nice in my hand, has a great battery and bulb life and has a quick charge setup that is nice. Plus its a lithium battery so i dont have to worry about a full power down before recharge.

I also picked up a used streamlight tl3 led off of ebay for $25. It isnt rechargeable but it takes the cr123, the led bulbs are cheap to replace, and I wanted another good quality lamp to have for a SHTF scenario. I have several cheaper lamps all around the house and garage and one in each car but its always nice to have a good quality lamp when you need it.

I also picked up some new tactical 5.11 pants. Galls had them on clearance for about a quarter of what they normally sell for. I have been wanting some new ones for a while and it was nice to get the discount.

I picked up a new belt and some new boot laces today to refresh my work and off duty attire.

I am going to the local redwing boot store tomorrow to pickup some new off duty work boots.

I ordered another carry knife from cold steel. I have been impressed with there blades and g10 handles for a while. I love my primary american lawman but i ordered a recon 1 because it was half off and regret it. I paid $60 shipped for it if anyone wants to get it. Its just a little to big for me. Its super light, super sharp, but about an inch to big.

I got my custom made pistol, knife, and light lanyards in about 2 months ago and never got around to messing with them. I pulled them out of the drawer and am getting them ready for use soon.

I also have a lead on a Suunto X10 Mil wrist computer. They make for really nice watches. The link up with mapping software, are google earth compatible, GPS, altimeter, barometer, etc... They retail for like $500ish but my RANGER neighbor bought one for his last deployment. Used it on a few missions and never uses it now. I am hoping to get it for the low low.

I will post up some pics tomorrow sometime. I have to sell a couple of more goodies and then some more expensive toys will be around!

Well.. I played with the Recon 1 some more today in hopes that I would like it. Its just a little to big but a great blade regardless.

I went to Redwing today and picked up a new pair of hunting/work boots and a set of nicer dress/casual shoes. They are both made by irish setter and are one of their lines of shoes. Irish Setter Lakesides and Elk Trakkers. The boots are super light and the shoes are actually comfortable. They are not my style but the wife said she loved them and wouldnt stop talking about them so I snagged them up. I paid $189 for the boots and $85 for the shoes. I hope I dont have to buy anymore shoes/boots for 2010. I got two new sets of issue work boots and 2 new pair of tennis shoes about 2 months back so I am set there also. I wanted to upload some pics offline but oh well. No luck.

I picked up a new rechargeable spotlight on sale from walmart today. Its an LED light and was 1/2 off. I have been needing one for a while and my last one got destroyed on the boat.

I picked up a new boat cover today. Now I can get to remodeling and cleaning out my garage for my up coming pistol project. I also need to rebuild a bunch of target stands for next shooting season.

Its always nice to get things done during leave that you have been procrastinating all year. I have a couple of knives I want to send to Danny to have coated and some handcuffs that need to be done also. I just got a couple of more guns to sell and its on for 2010.

Yeah GUNBROKER is turning into another ebay. Alot of junk and crappy unhonest sellers.

I finished working on the house and got my new boots broke in. I picked up another custom .17hmr and am trying to seal the deal on another walther ppk/s project. I am bidding on two 1911's right now so hopefully i can get them all going at once. Anywho.. picks will come soon of all the new toys.

OH DANNY - I am still waiting for updated pics of your tool (no homo)

And I saw your add on nog. You to good to email someone when you need ammo. (Not like i have any laying around anywho. I am going to check one shop down here that i get big discounts from.)

I love my surefires but I just got tired of buying lamps all the time and was looking for an led. Believe or not the streamlight had the better reviews out of all of them.
